I hope they can put this on ALTAY or at least put it on a Tank Support Vehicle.
Maybe put it on ZMA-X, which follows the Tank, and let the operator in the Tank control it.

This has been my idea for the best Anti-Drone solution. 25mm ATOM. The French, Americans and Germans all plan on putting 30mm guns in the near future on their tanks. We should follow suit and integrate this in future blocks of Altay.

When i think about it, even if they would manage to put it on ALTAY, there should be a tank support vehicle with that system too. Because on ALTAY you would have limited ammo, plus the tank support vehicle could be an UGV with low silhouette.

Our national technology, the #HARBİYE Command and Control System, ensures uninterrupted, secure, and real-time communication between the soldier on the field and the headquarters.

📍 Increase decision-making speed
📍 Strengthen operational security
📍 Maximize joint operation efficiency

Aktürk also stated that the Land Forces Command has completed inspection and acceptance procedures for various quantities of "35mm Modernized Towed Gun," "Fire Control Device," "Armored Anti-Tank Vehicle (UMTAS CİRİT/Tracked)," and "TRLG-230 Laser-Guided Missile," and that they have been added to the inventory.

The wagons, which will transport the Turkish Armed Forces' armored vehicles, are:
⏹️ 22 tons in tare weight,
↔️ 14.5 meters in length, and
⏺️ Designed with a load-carrying capacity of 68 tons.

⚡️ With our UAIS-type wagons, capable of reaching speeds of 100 km/h;
⚜️ Altay Tank, as well as Korkut, Samur, Kirpi, Riot Control Vehicles, and Armored Personnel Carriers will be transported.

Thats good and all but we need a better infrastructure and investments in conventional rail.
Our network is not sufficient.

Ukraine is alife today due to its Soviet era network.

Was this shared? It is about anti-drone capability, so i post it here.
Imo very interesting concept.

Anti-Drone Role for Standard Weapons from ASELSAN Konya

Anti-drone munitions developed through a joint project between SATEK R&D and URBAN will be used in ASELSAN Konya’s AKONS series.

The IDEF 2025 International Defense Industry Fair, an internationally prestigious event showcasing the latest technological developments and products in the defense industry, concluded on July 27. Many domestically developed and nationally produced systems were introduced to attendees at the fair. One of the most closely followed products was the anti-drone munitions developed through joint efforts of Turkish defense industry firms.

Developed by ASELSAN Konya, the AKONS (Smart Optical Sight System) provides a cost-effective solution against drones. To further enhance the effectiveness of AKONS, testing continues with anti-drone munitions developed by SATEK R&D and URBAN. According to information obtained by Defence Turk, the prototype is still under development and is expected to be tested by Turkish Armed Forces personnel in the near future.

Previously, AKONS had already demonstrated high effectiveness against drones when used with standard M-80 and M-80 (7.62 mm x 51) ammunition. In the newly developed system, the goal is to achieve greater effectiveness by firing specialized munitions that each contain 7 projectiles. The primary goal here is to create an effective projectile cluster against drones.

As a result of live-fire tests, shots were successfully conducted at 100 meters with 7.62 mm and at 200 meters with 12.7 mm effective ammunition. Resembling shotgun shells with a scatter-shot structure, these anti-drone munitions offer higher accuracy than traditional shotguns frequently used on the Russia-Ukraine front. Another advantage of the AKONS (Smart Optical Sight System) is its compatibility with other M-80 ammunition in terms of size, fit, and physical properties, allowing for multi-mode automatic firing.

The anti-drone ammunition, designed to be used within a specific range to bring down target drone systems, is expected to become operational following field experience and refinement based on user feedback. With input from various military commands, further development and improvements of this ammunition will continue. The prototype stage is nearing completion, and mass production is expected to begin soon.

Anti-Drone Ammunition Calibers

  • 12.7 mm – Tested / Approved
  • 7.62 mm – Tested / Approved
  • 5.56 mm / 5.45 mm – In Development
The anti-drone ammunition, which features deployable sabot-based projectiles designed for kinetic impact, has been tested on ASELSAN AKONS 7.62 mm MPT-76 and ASELSAN SARP 12.7 mm RWS M2 weapons and is compatible with all standard firearms.

So our Land Forces is getting anti-drone capability on infantry level. In the past we have discussed, if it would be good to hand out shotguns to our soldiers. Imo this solution is better. Now let's assume this new capability will be widespread. The questions i have is, will we have specialized soldiers and will be the AKONS sensor/optic like plug and shoot (so you can use other optics too)? Also i wonder what information the AKONS gives to the user?
@TR_123456 Abi what do you and others think?

It is ammunition, why the need for specialized soldiers when every soldier can shoot?
Just change ammo and shoot from all direction, more effective,no?

Because as i understand it (could be wrong), they plan to use the ammo in combination with AKONS (Akıllı Optik Nişangah Sistemi) (Smart Optical Sight System). That's why i also asked, if that sensor can be changed easily to use other optics, if needed. If not then wouldn't that mean one soldier always have to be the "anti-drone specialist"?

Could be but you think one would be enough, after all such drones come in swarms,no?
Maybe they'll form specialized teams with only AKONS and smart ammo against such drones.
Anything is possible.
We should wait for some footage of AKONS in action to see the capabilities then think of ways to use it effectively.

In Ukraine infantry level they are using shotguns and they seems to be effective. Should we also think about distributing shotguns squad level?

If that concept with AKONS proves itself, then imo it will be superior to shotguns (wrt anti-drone). But like @TR_123456 already said, we need more information and the concept needs to prove itself first.
