The Royal Thai Army has continuously participated in combined exercise with the U.S. Army under the exercise "Lightning Forge 22"in the 3rd year which focusing on combined operation capability development.

The Royal Thai Army has continuously participated in combined exercise with the U.S. Army under the exercise "Lightning forge 22" in the 3" year which contributed to increase the capability of combined operation during 5th October - 2" November 2021 at Schofield Barracks, Dillingham and Kahuku Training Area, Hawaii, U.S. Lightning Forge Exercise is a preparation training of 25th Infantry Division, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command before deploying them for the evaluation at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC), Louisiana, U.S. Due to the impact of COVID-19 outbreak, the U.S. Army changed the force preparation plan by merging the Lightning Forge 22 and JRTC 22-01 (Joint Readiness Training Center Rotation 22-01) to be conducted in one time as JPMRC 22-01 (Joint Pacific Multi National Readiness Training Center Rotation 22-01). For this 2022 fiscal year, it is a training cycle of the 3' Brigade, 25th Infantrty Division, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and the RTA was invited to send the defending.
personnel in platoon level to participate in this exercise in order to increase mutual interoperability.
The RTA Commander-in-Chief has appointed the 3" Army Area (4t Infantry Division) to be the main unit to arrange the personnel in platoon level with the number of 39 soldiers consist of the commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers and cadets, along with the training supporting unit, OC/T team, and public affair team with the total of 50 personnel to participate in the exercise with 25t Infantry Division, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command at Schofield Barracks, Dillingham and Kahuku Training Area, Hawai, U.S.

Before joining the exercise, all RTA personnel has been fully vaccinated from Thailand and then conducted restriction of movement at preparation area (Area-X) for 7 days prior the preparation training during 12t -18" October 2021 and the tactical training until 30t October 2021. The platoon was attached to the 2-27 Battalion, 3" Brigade to operate in the Large Scale Combat Operations (LSCO) of the Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT). To be the part of this exercise is the great opportunity for RTA personnel to acquire knowledge and experiences in multinational integration operations under the virtual training system with high technology training facilities for the combat readiness and apply their knowledge to improve themselves and the country. Importantly, this exercise enhances the mutual cooperation between the Royal Thai Army and the U.S. Army under strategic of strengthening security mutual cooperation in the long-term future.
