Could the government use propaganda and disinformation to cover-up the assassination of a world leader, elite businessman, or a television personality in order to control the narrative so as to prevent chaos and panic, and also for the government to avoid accountability for their neglect of security operations?
Could the government’s pretence continue until long after a world leader's term has ended in order to reframe the killing as a "death by natural cause" so as to limit the extent of harm caused by the assassination?
Could the government’s military deception and disinformation be motivated by their adamant refusal to bolster the killer's morale due to their potential knowledge that the target was eliminated?
PS. It presupposes that the aforementioned are state secrets, and that the killer never had the security clearance necessary to access the information sought.
