TSK has the needed equipment to counter such attacks both in the way of EH and hard kill systems in the area, but the location at which the latest attacks has its specifics which don't allow TSK to take the needed measures. I am sure that soon a solution will be developed, but it may take a bit of time.

We also may not see this solution immediately after it is deployed due to OPSEC concerns. The exact location is very sensitive in this context.

Every component of the İhtar system can be carried on S70.

Another phase of the ongoing Claw Lock operation, which was launched in the Metina region in the spring, has successfully ended.

Troops affiliated with the Turkish Armed Forces continue to advance by taking control of the dominant hills around the organization's tunnels in the Metina Mountain range.

While the hills in the north were taken under control in order to cut off supplies to the tunnels on the slopes of the Metina Mountain range, more than 10 km of progress was made at the summit of the range.

It is expected that the Turkish Armed Forces troops, who are advancing by reducing the movement area of the organization, will completely siege the Metina camp in the coming days.

The organization uses villages in the region.

The presence of many villages around TSK points and tunnels belonging to the terrorist organization slows down and restricts the progress of the troops in the field.

Members of the organization, who use the villages in the region, use harassment fire directly from inside the houses in the village, while they also fire mortars from the fields and garden areas frequently used by civilians.

Although it was seen in previous Claw operations that the organization used houses in villages as bases and installed power lines from villages to tunnels, this is the first time an operation has been carried out in an area with such a dense civilian population.

A footage of PKK loitering munition being shot down in the Claw-Lock Operation area. It was reported that yesterday there were intense clashes at the Matin Mountain.

According to sources this is not the only neutralized drone. As noted before TSK has the needed equipment to counter these threats, but the situation at Amedi and Matin is a bit different. I hope that we see more of the effective counter-measures of the TSK at these locations.

Different in what way? Do you mean it needs time to get the equipment in place ?

As I noted before these locations are in close proximity to civilian areas. They are also very close to tunnels.

If we disregard the sensitivity around placing the counter-measures at a locations that are not open from other points there is the specifics of the difficulty that the system should not endanger the civilian population with its line of fire and is protected from infiltration attempts coming from the tunnels. We should know that PKK exploits the close proximity of our bases to the civilian settlements and we should be very careful about the timing and used method of interception. Both hard kill and soft kill methods of interception should be precisely timed in order to not cause the drone to fall in a civilian settlement causing collateral damage or projectile to be fired at a village. A common thing is stray 40mm grenades to fall in near villages and this is used by PKK for propaganda purposes.

We have both soft kill and hard kill measures deployed.

I was thinking of classic radio operator backpack sized drone signal jamming device.
For me the decision is very easy, but it is against the ethics of TSK.

If it was Russia or the US in our situation these villages probably wouldn't even exist today.

What is the origins of those drones? It is obvious?
They are based on an openly available model X-UAV Talon which they modify for their intendent use. They use UAVs based on this model for many years now, but with little to no success. They constantly try to improve their UAVs, but fail. With their latest models looks like they added an improved receiver antenna. They are using them now as a propaganda tool in combination with the "358" missile which was supplied to them by the PMU earlier.

What really worries me is this guy here:

The design uses readily available jet motor. It was seen in two locations in Syria (Manbij and Amuda) and in Suleymaniye/Kandil areas in Iraq where it failed in tests. As they share an engine from the same manufacturer I think it is obvious that there is connection. The joint PUK-YPG grouping that we targeted at the Suleymaniye airport was rumored to have trained in the usage of UAVs. We know that PKK intensified its operations in Suleymaniye and we also know that Iran started assisting them more proactively. This is why we should keep the pressure, keep an eye on the traffic between Suleymaniye, Gara and Sinjar and this is why we should press the Peshmerga to establish more control points on these roads and also we should press them to enter and establish stations in villages which are rated as high risk in terms of logistic support, make them establish the needed intelligence network in these villages in coordination with MIT so we can intercept all of the traffic before it reaches its objectives.

Yeni Safak comes with more news regarding the latest developments, confirms our speculations and concerns, and adds more interesting information.

Iran gave 50 kamikaze drones, air defense systems and anti-radiation missiles to the PKK

According to the information obtained by Yeni Şafak newspaper, the country, which delivered 50 kamikaze drones to the organization in the past months, this time sent direct air defense systems and anti-radiation missiles to the PKK.

The route chosen by Iran, which makes shipments to the terrorist organization through the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), is Suleymaniye.

Kamikaze drones, whose ammunition was brought down to Suleymaniye Airport by a civilian plane, were delivered to the PKK through the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) under the control of Talabani.

Systems that provide early detection against UCAVs

It was determined that along with the kamikaze drones delivered to the terrorist organization PKK, a Russian-origin thermal vision and wide-angle aerial observation device, which is used for the early detection of UCAVs was also given.

It is stated that PUK facilitated the activities in Suleymaniye in order to provide logistical support for the development of kamikaze drones delivered to the PKK.

Procured critical parts in Germany

It was stated that some parts of the drones given to the terrorist organization PKK by Iran were also supplied by Germany.

Security sources stated that these parts are important parts to improve the mobility of drones. (personal addition out of the quote: the engines)

Peshmerga ID by PUK to PKK

Some of the kamikaze drones were delivered to the PKK in March. 4 PKK terrorists, who were given UAV training by the USA, went to Gara with drones delivered to the PKK.

PKK terrorists started to use PUK's vehicles to avoid being targeted by UCAVs and it was determined that PUK gave Peshmerga identities to the terrorists so that they could travel covertly.

Security sources had determined that vehicles loaded with weapons and ammunition belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards entered the Tel Rifat/Kafr Nasuh region (Syria) with the members of the organization in a military convoy.

The headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in this region were also handed over to the terrorist organization, and it was stated that there were approximately 15 PKK members in each headquarters.

Flights to Sulaymaniyah are banned for another 6 months

Turkiye extended the flight ban to Suleymaniye Airport for another 6 months. According to the statement of an Iraqi official, Turkiye extended the flight ban on Suleymaniye International Airport for another six months.

The decision extends the current ban until December 7, 2024. Turkish Airlines suspended its flights to Suleymaniye in April 2023 on the grounds that the terrorist organization PKK continued its presence in Suleymaniye and could endanger flight security by infiltrating the airport.

I don't really trust yeni safak because of Karagul's bullshit but they are affiliated with the government and may have insider links.

Do we have a confirmed list of drones lost?

Because other tweets deny they shot down any drones

If Iran can do this and get away with it it will mean a retreat in Syria and Iraq unless there is war

Instead of blaming US supplying drones to PKK what is our excuse? Why is there no any protection against drones?

It is high time that our companies develop anti drone drones
idk whether it is relevant but in last 5 years tekno fast drone compotations fouces on drone vs drone aerial combat targeting each other with laser. probably we were focusing on building such drone for the protection of our soldiers
