erdogan has gone really silent on syria. Another backdown?

I hope not. Maybe it was part of the strategy. Make PKK scramble, intercept their comm. and movements, map their key locations and then come suddenly one night when they are unprepared.

Iam more inclined to believe that Erdo is buying time

What sort of preprations take 2-3 months

Turkey has also for the past many operations been very slow with the preparation work. Likely to minimize human cost.

Also, the enemy has extensive tunnel network and ATGMs. Turkey really wants to map those out to avoid nasty ambushes.

By now everyone should understand that he is all talk no walk, it's all for PR and populist politics, Tel Rifat was part of the Operation Olive Branch (Afrin) and our Forces even entered the region but Operations halted for no reason.

Same with Operation Peace Spring (east of Euphrates) within few days the region between Tal Abyad and Ayn Al Arab (Kobani) until the M4 road was cleaned basically 1/3 of the proposed safe zone, but he let fool himself twice with ceasefires and operations again halted.

Since 2019 we will attack, we will attack... terrorists build tunnels right infront of our border they even share footages on social media, not one air strike etc., soldiers patrol ATGM attack happens, reaction few artillery shells and that's all.

We have many weapons development programs and we are better off having better weapons and good timing before we start a new operation in Syria. Hence the time spent before a new operation is well justified.

No amount of weapons you make will close the gap on US power. The longer you leave it the more entrenched the americans can become. As for the Russians tomorrow if the Ukraine war ends you will have lost an opportunity that may not present itself again.

Dont let blind faith in religion make you blind to politics. Government is their to get results, its not there to be worshipped.

Just like everyone looks back and understands how dumb it was to waste years before moving in, you will look back at these years and wonder why more inaction was observed.

Its clear erdogan is asking for permission, thats killed Turkish ability to intervene. No one fears Turkey in Syria not even the YPG. Thats why you shouldnt constantly bark, your bluff gets called and once its get called its hard to revert course.

Its almost entirely meant for domestic consumption now, he's not really interested in risking his rule of Turkey to secure Turkeys future in Syria. Its about feeding the mindless zombie horde who follows him.

I fear this government in 10 years time will tell the Turkish people that YPG state in syria is good for Turkey, just like they did the same with the KRG. It was first a threat and a danger to Turkeys own stability and soverignty, then they turned it into "its good for Turkey." Its so good that when they had a referendum for indepedence, Turkey had to oppose it knowing the instability it will create for the entire region.

The KRG owned media btw like Rudaw and Kurdistan24 are the biggest promoters of Kurdistan separatism within Turkey.

Many "political islamist" supporting citizens of Turkey honestly remind me of this. Its like no matter how much failure you see, you don't want to recognise it. You've been so brainwashed and manipulated that you cannot reason with the obvious truths in front of you.

I am not a Turk, but looking at it from the outside. What choices do you have? The opposition is complete shit. There is no real alternative?

once again, the saying “Turks are their own worst enemies” is holding true. Unfortunately.

Then the Turkish people should do something about it. Are they going to keep tolerating such trash? How can incredible levels of incompetence be tolerated? This doesn't even go into the absolute corruption and thievery that's committed by these politicians.

For example the CHP supporters should ask themselves how does someone so incompetent like Kilic stay at the top? 20 years he's achieved nothing? Why is he still the head? Almost as if they want CHP to keep losing.

Something dirty is going on in Turkish politics and i don't mean the relentless thieving and corruption. FETO exists and actively existed to take over Turkey, how many other such orders exist within Turkey with the same aims and ambitions?

Dude you do realise that Turkiye can keep on striking ypg with drones even missiles strikes. Like their tunnels, training camps, ammo depots and their places where they store vehicles along with their atgm hideouts. Without even sending a soldier.

Artillery strikes do the job but not enough as you got to strike them at every turn especially deep like raqqa.

But no as Erdogan backs down due to the USA and Russia.

Erdogan is to be partly blamed with this whole debacle.

Its not his entire fault. But we beated around the bush too long. Before ypg and isis could become land holders or the usa and russia intervening.

We had the chance we and blew it iste. The price to pay. Honestly davutoglu has to take a lot of the blame by acting like a coward.

When isis and ypg started to take land and cities we just to strike them with drones, planes and missiles.

We relied on proxies and standing by.
