It is obvious there are preparations for something big from all sides, but what it is I am not sure. Many of the signs are showing a preparation for an operation, but I hope it doesn't end like the past times. A lot happened since the first Iranian strike on Israel. The intensity of otherwise lame processes is boosted.
This is also what i've been hearing from experienced users in twitter that follow the Syrian conflict for a very long time. Although there are multiple signs and hints that there will be a new operation, they do believe that there will be nothing important on our side.

Can experienced people educate me on this topic? What is the reason of this uncertainty and indetermination, is it due to our aged f16 fleet which can't face Russian SU34/35s and American counterparts? Is it more related to political issues?

I personally believe that if we don't seriously take action against YPG it will be too late some years later.

The issue is not a military one. TSK is always ready to do what it must do. What I think is that the decision makers are afraid of economic sanctions and further intensifying of military equipment embargo. This is why military action is kept limited.

So, what exactly are we gaining by giving YPG time to prepare and arm up? I just can't seem to understand that part.
We are not gaining anything. Come for Politics thread for more.
We are waiting for D. Trump and his ‚Go‘.
No. Trump was the one who destroyed economy. Kicked us out of F-35 program and put us in CAATSA. When he comes to power he will destroy Turkish economy once again for Erdoğan's open pro-HAMAS position, kick us out of Syria, arm YPG to a higher level to make them a anti-Iran proxy.

It seems you have absolutely no clue about the issue. Just sharing your opinion (wishful thinkings).

Trump will give Israel a blank cheque to do whatever they want in the region, do you think it is in Israels interest for Turkey to be able to neutralize its biggest threat on its southern border? The US wont give up their proxies over night, especially not now with Israel being in open conflict.

RTE can always do another U turn and quietly align with Israel in exchange of a green light for a Syria op. Will he? I don't know. But it's definitely a possibility.

Trump is unpredictable. Even for his followers. Trump has “close” ties with Erdoğan. In his period we did most operations in Syria and Iraq. We stopped our operations during Biden legislative.
“ The US wont give up their proxies over night.” Right, they will not do this for free. The question is, what will they want in return?

It's now 13 years that PKK has it's own semi-country in just other side of our borders. 1 year, 2 years, 3 years... 13 years means a policy.
US has many power institutions and organizations. Pentagon, White House, Congress, Senate, Lobbies…Foreign Policy is not only made by the government in US.

He has even closer ties to Israel. And now Erdogan positioned himself more anti-Israel than ever. He will also not be able to make an U-turn, as long as israels ethnic cleansing campaign is still ongoing, as that would cost the AKP votes.

Said other institutions opposed the pullback of US troops and are still ardent pkk supporters

You have great followers of Republicans who really hates Zionism and Jews. Just watch Candace Owens on YouTube for example.
No one likes pkk in US. They use them as every one do it in the region. PKK has more than one “pimp”. And USA know that. Loyalty is a different. After election, we will see more and who is right or wrong.

There's still a fairly solid chance that Harris will win so let's not get too optimistic.

People have to be daft that US foreign policy is run by the President.

Pkk is used as a Proxy by the USA and Russia to keep Turkiye in check.

Pentagon runs its own policy so stop being naive that Kamala or Trump are better for Turkiye.

USA does not want Competition in the region especially for Israel hence why USA maintains military quality edge for Israel.

Turkiye in the Middle East has the USA, Russia, Iran, Israel and the Arab countries all against them. Thats the problem. Turkiye is facing hyenas either direct or indirect.

Turkiye might start a new op in Syria if Trump is elected. Erdogan and Trump previously agreed on a 30-35km buffer zone in Syria.

Blackmail,nothing else.
Remember,TSK used to take its own decisions but as you know thats no more an issue it has to comply to the governments approval.
And since they can blackmail this government with all kinds of sanctions, there wont be any significant action taken.
Lets hope for Trump to win the elections.

Trump wont change his policy regarding the PKK/YPG since it is an important existential tool for the survival of Israel

Moreover, as long as there is oil in YPG-held areas, there will be more incentive for Trump/Harris to remain in Syria; couple it with the fact that this means that Russia will take Syria if US leaves which wouldnt please the US
