- hybrid rocket 100 kg low orbit satellite launch
-Siper
-Tayfun
-Cenk
-one of Roketsan's or Sage's unknow projcet
Answer can be ONE of them or ALL of them :devilish:
- Biggest NOTAM so far?
-Area is divided to 3 sections
Only one of them would be tested at night just to hide the dimensions from eyes up on the sky.

To me, trail seems little bit unusual for a Sounding Rocket.
Acc to tweet "Roketler......ateşlendi" plural test made . We can assume at least two test made? Also second picture a bit weird may be because of angle of picture or wind but seems to me testing object made some maneuvers. I think it is not Sounding Rocket.

There is an alternative to depleted Uranium made from an exotic alloy of Tungsten.
Shells made from it sharpen as it hits target and it is pyrophoric (burns as it loses cohesion)
US is working on it to replace the Depleted Uranium shells. Since Tungsten is not radioactive it is safer for those that use it.

But just to have a different core would not necessarily increase the muzzle velocity of a round.

I heard Tungsten is not that common.

Is that true? Hence why its barely used as rounds as some nations dont have a lot of it lying around.

No it is not. It is in fact rarer than rare earth elements.
Also known as Wolfram ; In Turkey there is a mine in Uludag Bursa where over 1400 metric tons of ore was being excavated on a daily basis.
Etibank and a German consortium somehow stopped mining it. The mine is near the summit of Mount Uludag. During winter months it becomes impossible to reach the mine. But why they shut it is still a mystery.

Tungsten in conventional rounds becomes like a mushroom during impact. So it has not proven to be as penetrative as depleted uranium.

That explains it I guess.

DU basically risky I mean not just pollutes the land it also kills everybody when you are exposed to its radiation as we seen in Iraq.

DU also kills soldiers in the long term. I think a lot of American soldiers suffer from cancer due to exposure. Government basically covered it up just like Agent Orange. Exposure is not just killing Vietnamese people but also American soldiers

I do not for one second believe that this was a probe rocket

Ibrahim Sünnecti also has his doubts:

Are we sure it is a probe rocket? Because just recently, before IDEF, I asked about the launch date of the Probe Rocket at the ROKETSAN press conference, and Mr. Murat's answer was different...
Also taking into accounts its flight path and how the video seems to be cut short?

Canister launched sounding rocket is also uncommon. Could have been made to simplify the launch procedures.
Also a circular canister of this diameter is uncommon. Even cenk has rectangular diamater.

Also, at his stage you do not make test launches of sounding rockets/orbital rockets during nighttime.

Countries/organisations do launch sounding rockets at night.
There is nothing fishy about that.

I don’t know why are you guys so reluctant to take SSB at its words.
IMO, If this was something super secretive, they wouldn’t even publish the video in the first place.

No test launches. Definitely not at the stage Turkiye is at.

guess wise thing to do is instead of conspiracy theories we should search for the reasons of or advantages of night space launchs

A night space launch has no advantages beyond helping hide something you don't want the world to see. It only complicates your testing/operations.

I will not play a smart ass by sharing some basic google search results which you can do it yourself but still ....

https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna16061584

Maybe you should have read some of the articles including the one you posted. The NBC article mentions the benefit to be higher frequency. Only established space companies with frequent launches utilize night launches because the added complexity is outweighed by launch window flexibility. Turkiye is in no need for higher frequency (night launches). Specially not for sur-orbital launches. AND DEFINITELY not for test launches.

Take this from a space enthusiast who watches countless of launches yearly.

Too optimistic to be a defense industry enthusiast. There has been a day which NOTAM issued for Delta V trial from Sinop and within the same day they have conducted trials of 2 different missiles.

Still, i am not buying that was SR 1.0 but by product or development stage of another project.
With SR, we ought to receive some images from the space, or for stage separation. When we receive those images/videos of separation or earth from space, i will be convinced that it was a SR and not a missile system.
