TÜBİTAK SAGE is responsible for the design of the "Gezgin" cruise missile.

Roketsan General Manager Murat İkinci

TRT Haber live broadcast

It was claimed that TÜBİTAK SAGE had been hollowed out; that they had no viable projects. It turns out that not everyone knows everything.

This doesn't prove otherwise, people has left positions and projects they long worked on at SAGE since departure of Gürcan Okumuş.

In which stage is Gezgin right now?
Its nearing its end its currently undergoing qualification tests and will most likely enter service next year. Nothing much will change maybe some optimisation. But this is just the first (block) there will other iteration with different engines and weight. But the first block will be joint missile for all branches.

IHA 300 fire test hitting a target 250km+ away
Excuse my ignorance but is it not a bit silly to say it is a 500+km range missile; then we are told it has hit a target 250+km away?
Also are we all watching the same video?
There is no 300-ER missile video hitting the target. Just the firing.
We see an explosion where IHA122 hits the outside corner of the target buoy. If you can make out it is the same rectangular buoy we have in the second picture.

Yes, Akinci with all that weight may not go as high and can’t be as fast as a fighter jet. But to drop from 500km to 250km range is a bit over the top.

Can someone please explain to me what we are looking at here?
I can see Baykar crowd are happy about something. But wouldn’t it be the correct thing to do to include us in what they are praising each other for?

What means (+)?
For me, rounded up to the next tens or hundrets.
Example, 220+ km ~ 250km. 250+km ~ 300km.

Eray Güçlüer said it is an air to air missile, so it is 100% confirmed.
@Zafer ,
1. No one should take that guy’s comments seriously. We have asked all our members not to share anything he says unless it is corroborated by a valid source.
2. Your comments are for what? The two ramjet missiles or 300-ER missile? If it is the former, that has nothing to do with what we are discussing. Subject being discussed is 300-ER. If it is the latter, then you need to give us believable valid source.

How about this one?
Doesn‘t that belly resemble the Gökhan and Gokbora’s ramjet air inlet system?

That bulgey structure is a shroud for the folding lugs for aircraft launch, UAV-230 and UAV-122 have this too, notice when i put it on the hypothetical "TAYFUN ALBM" too. It is about having a more streamlined flow especially at supersonic and above regime because you never really want even the smallest portrustion.

Eray Güçlüer is talking about the 300-ER missile but probably what Kaan Azman is saying is right, so I will delete my post.

Murat İkinci, General Manager of ROKETSAN, announced that the IHA-300 will have an engagement range of 300+ kilometers when launched from UAVs and 500+ kilometers from fighter jets.

The day it gets launched from F-16 or whatever fighter, we might see this 'supersonic' definition shift to 'hypersonic' considering the supersonic launch speed and slightly higher altitude involved (Passing that pain in ass transonic regime and launching at lower air density)

Bro,
In aerospace engineering and missile design, missile holding lugs (or flush-mounted suspension lugs) must sit completely flush with the surface of the missile during it’s flight.

In cases where the missile has protruding hooks or lugs, after launch, these are retracted in to the body of the missile to give minimum drag. Anything that sticks out will affect the drag coefficient of the missile and will also detract from the missile’s RCS.

In most cases, the lug or hook retracts in to the body and the casing that supports them fold down flush in to the body covering them, giving zero protrusion. In this case we may be seeing that casing. Due to the heavier weight of the missile the overall system seems to be larger and more prominent than normal.

@Turkic , thanks for the info on ER-300
