Unfortunately, SSB sold İstif-class frigates İzmir (F-516) and İçel (F-518) to Indonesia. The Navy will only receive İzmir (F-517). In my opinion, we should have promptly taken delivery of the first four frigates for the Turkish Navy, and we should have allocated two frigates from the second batch to Indonesia. I don't know what the rush is? Indonesia could have waited for two years, but we urgently need those frigates.

There is no official statements yet we better wait and see ...
Turkiye needs them since is sorrouded by wars and opponents and majority of our frigates gabya and yavuz classes are old while indonesia can wait 2-3 years

Does I-Class have empty space for additional MIDLAS?
Would it be possible to fit second MIDLAS?

Or such configuration with additional frontal CIWS? MIDLAS could be moved forward?

Or it is too late??

Would need redesign and not likely if such a thing were to happen it would need to happen on a new model witch is longer. The only other option would be to replace some of the ashm with a midlas but I don’t know the structural details would also look weird. You could maybe do it like the Malaysian ada version but that’s unlikely too.

it would be too heavy...

its heavy already with 16 cell strike lentgh midlas..Siper2, Gezgin and Hisar-D with quadpacked is heavy missiles
To be honest, I would like to add Frontal CIWS. So I wonder if , moving forward MIDLAS and adding Gökdeniz , were technically possible?

U cant add nothlng more to Istanbul class , lts just 114 meter so lf u want 32 Vls u need to enlarge the warship , Turkiye modlfy very fast pakistan milgems , and ukraine ones so i would love to see 125-130 meter istanbul (block 2 ) wlth 32 VLS and produce 8 of them

They plan to launch tf2000 and MUGEM in the same year. How is that even possible when both ships are being built in the same shipyard?
They can lunch them as emty hull by 2028 but real war machine can be by 2031 perhaps ,
Still a huge AC like that without proper 5gen manned aircraft ! i dont understand .
Perhaps Navy thinls we ca buy F35C bıt still there will be rescteiction where to use it ,
Better is navy KAAN
Better to buld anpther type Anadolly and fill it with steath drones !

An Aircraft carrier without KAAN as it's main attack platform is just a waste of money.
We don't have that kind of money. We can do a limited drone carrier and have minor benefits for a smaller sum. Even 20 kaan on a ship is 2 billion $ by itself (not to mention the cost of navalizing kaan for only 20 of them probably on ship at best) The cost of a carrier and the fleet to protect it is who knows how much. For a french or british style carrier group you still lookin at 10-15 billion $ + fleet value and some 3000-5000 active personnel? For a light KE and Anka carrier you have lower odds and you can build a smaller flotilla and get away with it.
