The commander of Naval forces has stated that the MUGEM will be launched next year.
Even if it is an empty shell, that is really fast. I guess we will wait another 10-15 years at the least before it can be operational.

1. First we have to have a commensurate aircraft with stealth capabilities
2. Enough destroyers, frigates and submarines that can keep up with such a ship to protect it will have to be built
3. Plus another Dimdeg is needed to keep it supplied.
4. Self defence capabilities for point defence and aircrafts and helicopters for the same.

Other wise it is going to stay as a big bulk of hull with no military use.

Even if they are thinking of operating KE and Anka-3 from it; then it is just too big for a drone ship.
In 15 years we might have 2 TF-2000 destroyers,2 Milden subs,at least 6 Istif class frigates,another Dimdeg is also possible and even Self Defence capabilities but we will for sure not have fighter jets or even helicopters of our own design development and production for our AC.
So,how are they going to do that?

In 15 years we can expect at least 4 DDGs; even 6-8 if they order them back to back like Istifs. On DPO's own drawings and models we saw Hürjet, KE and Anka-3. That wasn't a company presentation; it's the navy itself. All can be made available in 15 years.

And what if they sell two of them,did you calculate that to?
How is the Hürjet carrier ready ,you would have to change the structural integrity(almost a new platform?
2 Istifs are not sold yet. And there's hardly a market for DDGs out there; countries usually make those themselves. Only ones I remember are the Chinese Sovremennys and the Taiwanese Kidds. If a country needs and can operate a DDG, they can usually simply make it themselves. No customer of ours can operate a 8600ton 96 VLS DDG.

Hürjet started in 2017, CDR was done in 2021, first flew in 2023 and will be delivered 2027 at the latest. Turning a trainer to a STOBAR capable aircraft is really not that hard, see Hawk to Goshawk and even the JL-10J. Easily doable within 15 years.

I do agree that the claim of a launch in 2027 is political. But nevertheless, that hull will stay in the shipyard for at least 7-8-10 years during the fitting.
