The Panhard AML (Auto Mitrailleuse Légère, or "Light Machine Gun Car")[3] is a fast, long-ranged, and relatively cheap armoured car with excellent reconnaissance capability.[8] Designed on a small, lightly armoured 4×4 chassis, it weighs an estimated 5.5 tonnes, and thus suitable for airborne deployment.
It can carry either a 90 mm quick firing low pressure gun, or a 60 mm breech loading mortar as main weapons.
