MANILA – The Philippine Army (PA) has a new public affairs office chief, Col. Xerxes Trinidad, replacing Col. Ramon Zagala who is now the spokesperson of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The traditional turnover of office was presided by PA chief-of-staff Brig. Gen. Robert Capulong.

Before being appointed as Office of the Army Chief Public Affairs (OACPA), Trinidad was assistant chief-of-staff for civil-military operations (G-7) of the 4th Infantry Division.

He also served as 36th Infantry Battalion commander and 402nd Infantry Brigade executive officer.

Trinidad is also a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1995 and holds a Masters in Public Management Major in Development Security from the Development Academy of the Philippines.

He recently graduated with a Master's in National Security Administration from the National Defense College of the Philippines.

Meantime, Zagala, who served in OACPA for more than two years, was recently appointed AFP spokesperson.

Zagala worked closely with celebrity reservists and personalities in promoting the PA's thrust and programs.

He also facilitated the special enlistment of 12 journalists and 11 broadcasters to help the PA's public information program. (PNA)
