As of mid-2020, the PLAN currently fields 20 modern aegis-type* destroyers in its order of battle, supported by another 11 older, non-aegis-type destroyers. These 20 modern aegis-type destroyers are made up of six Type 052Cs, 13 Type 052Ds, and one lead Type 055.

The destroyers have two separated VLS by 32 cell with combination of different missiles. İ am more interested in new type of HHQ-9 SAMs. Apart from old gen the new missiles have active radar seeker. The destroyers also have high end sensors and AESA. She is literally Air Defence Destroyer.

Type 052B destroyer

Two ships have been built, with Guangzhou (168) and Wuhan (169) both being commissioned into the People's Liberation Army Navy Surface Force in July 2004. This class features a stealthy hull and significantly improved air defence systems, an area that had been a major weakness on previous ships designed by China. These ships represent a major improvement over older generation vessels and reflects the PLAN's need for more modern destroyer designs.

Type 051C destroyer

The Type 051C destroyer (NATO reporting name: Luzhou class) is a long-range air-defence guided missile destroyer built by China in its ongoing effort to create a true blue water navy. The ship uses the hull design of the older Type 051B (Luhai class), but is equipped with the advanced Russian S-300FM air defence missiles systems. Currently, two ships of this class have been launched and deployed by People's Liberation Army Navy North Sea Fleet.
