Great to see PM Imran Khan meeting the Uzbek President. Discussions revolved around Afghanistan, trade and possibility of a direct rail link between Pak-Uzbekistan. Huge potential for regional trade.
Imran Khan seems like a fine bloke to drink some chai and have an interesting chat with. Pakistan deserves such a leader.Great to see PM Imran Khan meeting the Uzbek President. I have had the privilage to attend a fund raising event he hosted for Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital in 1992. Impressive person in persona and physique standing at 6'2'' tall. A Alpha male. The tragedy is he got into seat of power at age of 67 which means he has not much left in him. But still Pakistan is lucky. By the way I joined PTI UK chapter in 1996 as soon as he set it up. PTI is the Pakistan Justice Party. I will open a thread on Imran Khan at some point. He is the most famous Pakistani in the world - particulary in the Anglosphere.Imran Khan seems like a fine bloke to drink some chai and have an interesting chat with. Pakistan deserves such a leader.
*Meeting also sought to get all of Afghanistan's neighbours - Pakistan, Iran, Turkemistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikstan and Turkey to work toward resolving the impending conflict in that country. This is great news because the solution lies in all the neighbours coming together to bring peace in a country that has seen nothing but war for 40 years.
Nobody can put a leash on them. 40 years of history demonstrates that. However I think PM IK does have some traction with these guys because he has for 20 years insisted that there was no military solution and the war would one day need a negotiated end. Certainly USA at that time were critical of him but eventually did exactly what he said would happen. So leash perhaps is too crude a word but finesse them perhaps. Also if all the neighbours are on the same page it gives weight to any deal broker. That's all well and good but can he put a leash on the Taliban and get them to listen?
People are too obsessed about the leash part or sphere of influence, I think PM IK has done well considering where he had to begin with. I think being able to lead constructive dialogue with Taliban or/and Afghan government is the key here, as you mentioned a peaceful settlement. I do not see it happening with the level of corruption going on though, so what should be focal point is whether Taliban can establish hierarchy to control all the tribal leaders or which laws they'll adhere to.Nobody can put a leash on them. 40 years of history demonstrates that. As I said in the previous post it will be the neighbours who will have to resolve the issue. When Bosnia had problems I don't think China, Brazil or South Africa could have found a solution by sending their armies there.

I think Turkey has a critical role to play but only within a Pak-Uzbek plan. They must both take the lead as they are both the most to be effected by events there. If things go really bad Pakistan could get flooded by millions of refugees amongst who could be terrorists and we will again see suicide bombing every week in major cities. Really don't need that again.Turkey should butt out, and only support through Pakistan etc.
Only when you put a leash on the Northern Alliance.
That is what you call a leader. Compare this with previous garbage in Pakistan. What a transformation.
Chad Imran Khan telling others he knows more about them than themselves vs Virgin Modi hugger
It’s your rear on fire which is why you’re obsessed with keeping Dalit as your name. Yes you have a bright future with them, ever been to central asia? They watch Indian movies and love our music, plus you support China your landlords who claim central asian lands and do attrocities on Uighur muslims. Just go there, there are many who are Afghan Tajiks and Uzbeks as well.LOL Indian rear on fire. Calm down and breathe. Central Asian States and Pakistan have a bright future. We are not snitches of the US unlike some countries in the neighborhood.

You are saying this after sleeping with US for almost 4 decades in lieu of military hardware & harbouring Osama right under nose of your famed Army . I know you found a new paramour now but still....Have some shame to ack you old paramour. He is still using your air space to pound your new son in Afghanistan...
