Two pilots have been pressured to eject from a fighter jet at Amberley Airbase, south-west of Ipswich in Queensland.
A witness informed 9News the F/A-18 Tremendous Hornet was taking off with seven different jets when it appeared to undergo engine failure.
Each pilots ejected efficiently and the plane ended up in grass beside the runway.

An investigation is underway into the incident. (9)


Pictures present the pilots coming down of their parachutes and the jet on the bottom with its cockpit blown out.
There seems to be some harm across the entrance of the aircraft.

The jet may be seen close to the runway at Amberley Airbase.


The Division of Defence confirmed this afternoon that each pilots are secure.
“Defence can verify that an incident involving an Air Pressure plane has occurred at RAAF Base Amberley,” a Defence spokesperson mentioned.
“The aircrew of that plane are secure and no different personnel had been concerned within the incident.
“Defence’s first precedence is the protection of personnel at RAAF Base Amberley. Defence will present extra data as soon as the rapid actions related to the incident are accomplished.
“The reason for the incident just isn’t recognized presently and shall be topic to investigation.”
