After witnessing the war in Ukraine, the effectiveness of man-portable ATGMs is unquestionable. Just like TB2s, Javelins have gained a cult like status.

Within this year, Karaok, the Turkish equivalent of the Javelin, will be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces. It's specifications are:

Diameter 125 mm
Mass< 16 kg (missile + tube)
Range2.5 kilometre
WarheadTandem armour piercing
Fire modesDirect attack/ top attack
Guidance Infrared homing fire and forget

I don't want to go against everything. but aren't these shoulder-fired missiles? (karaok, sungur..)
why do we always see missiles being fired from the platform?
These missiles will be used by a single private during the war. The tests should be as if they were in a one on one battle. These missiles should be launched from the shoulder.

You need to test if it's safe to be fired before letting a soldier use it.

OMTAS tests also started unmanned for safety reasons but when the product matured, tests were carried out by soldiers or engineers. This is about the procedures of missile trials.

It should be safe otherwise we would not deliver to Army.

Does it really bother you that much that the first firing tests were done unmanned? It's a common practice around the world.

You also don't test a torpedo for the first time from a submarine or A2A missile on fighter jet, anti ship missile etc.

That is not the point. Of course, first firing tests are unmanned. But in the next stage it’s manned. Otherwise you would not deliver to army, don’t you. Where are the tests (manned) of the next stage?

seems like a great weapon this area the equalivent of (Javelin) will be covered however Turkish army still lacks a more compact simple to use by single soldier weapon like Matador.

look how easy to move and shoot with it. It’s so excellent.

or the Panzerfaust 3 is also good example.
How comes Karaok or Javelin ATGM difficult to use?
I would say , vise versa rocket propelled grenades are not easy to use.

MATADOR is not a rocket propelled grenade (RPG, Panzerfaust-3) but a recoilless rifle similar like the Carl Gustaf.
