He recalled that since Soviet times, there have been several facilities in Crimea that were used to store nuclear weapons. In particular, the so-called "Feodosia-13" in the village of Krasnokamyanka, as well as Balaklava, where the submarines of the Russian Federation are located, and, according to verified information, there are tunnels for submarines.
"It was in these depots that weapons of both the tactical and operational and operational-strategic levels were stored. Therefore, the presence of even tactical weapons on the territory of the Republic of Crimea, which allows their use in a narrow component, poses a great danger both for Europe and for us." said Krivonos.
At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that when Tu-22M3 bombers are based in the Crimea, they could threaten even Great Britain.
"Even a third of what is in the United States and Russia is enough to demolish the entire territory of our planet. That is, the number of missiles far exceeds the number of objects of interest to the enemy. The United States and Russia understand that this is much more than necessary. They take into account that part of the means of delivery of nuclear munitions can be destroyed, so the stockpile necessary to ensure that these nuclear munitions still achieve their goal is created, "said the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
Krivonos also expressed the opinion that Ukraine should learn lessons from the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
