Poland has chosen Sweden to supply it with three submarines, Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said on Wednesday, in a multi-billion euro deal that forms a key element of Warsaw’s efforts to bolster its defenses on the Baltic Sea.

Poland has picked Sweden's Saab as the supplier in the agreement, which is estimated to be worth around 10 billion zlotys (€2.36 billion), said Kosiniak-Kamysz, who is also a deputy prime minister. "

IMHO this is good news for Sweden, where Sweden has two of the Blekinge-class submarine (also known as SAAB A-26) being built for the Swedish Navy. If Poland goes through with an order of quantity 3 submarines, by simply increasing the quantity of numbers (2 (Sweden) + 2 (Poland)) it could possibly benefit both Poland and Sweden in terms of future maintenance in regards to parts - where a larger part production run can be shared among these two NATO nations. Having only 2 or 3 of any class of a submarine, IMHO likely increases the per submarine maintenance costs.

i found an obscure internet reference that states the A26 is to have lithium batteries to go together with its AIP. So I assume the Polish A26 will also have such.
