Among the programs that the Minister of Foreign Affairs will bring to the Parliament in September, are many that we have been waiting for a long time. Thus, the services of the Ministry have completed the negotiations, and GEETHA will proceed with the purchase of a significant number of SPIKE NLOS systems, which will be available "multidimensional".

So, obviously, systems will be purchased that will be carried in special wheeled vehicles, of high mobility but also of higher survival. These vehicles could be either PLASAN (Sandcat) vehicles used by the Israeli army, or some other option, such as the heavier and better protected OPLITIS or JLTV we saw at DEFEA 2021. This will be decided next year by the supply of missiles.

However, the SPIKE NLOS missiles will also equip the AH-64A helicopters, while it is not excluded that they will also appear in the AH-64DHA. With this weapon, the Greek AH-64A will acquire lethal capabilities, which will allow them to operate far from the opponent's anti-aircraft systems (for those friends who mention the S-400, we will say that the latter are not NLOS…)

But the most interesting thing is that the PN will also receive missiles of the type! At the suggestion of GEETHA, the GEN positively considered the possibility, and a number of missiles for ships of the Hellenic Navy will be added to the order. We do not know the types of ships that will be available for these weapons, nor the number or extent of the shipping supply. That is, we do not know if the weapons will be placed in TPCs, gunboats or Mark Vs, or a combination of all of them, but surely the weapon will change the data in the Aegean.

Actually this is indirectly(!) a good news. We know that many projects are being worked on and this news will whip up the Turkish defense industry. It won't take long to see its counterpart

For those uninformed themselves yet:

İbrahim Sünnetçi:

“As far as I know, the Spike NLOS equivalents are still in the development and testing process of two separate original products by Roketsan with the capability of even beyond.”

“Better than Spike NLOS in terms of range and warhead weight, but of course classically heavier...”
Correction came from source:
One from Roketsan & one from Tubitak-SAGE

I don't think a missile with a range of 30km can be effective in naval battles. It seems like a difficult possibility for enemy elements to threaten a platform within a 30km radius. It is highly likely that it has already been detected and neutralized by fire support means before it enters this range but it may be used more effectively against land elements. This type of missile can give very deterrent results on armored armored vehicles that do not have active protection.

And they also threaten our fast attack missile boats. What we need is to integrate gökdeniz in place of old bofors. Because korkut (gökdeniz) can handle anti tank munitions like hellfire. So spike should be easier target for gökdeniz.

This has got to be one of the best decisions Greece may make. A compact missile system for islands with a 30km range, would definitely be a deterrent.
