Current situation in Syria is worrying
Pkk will literally take most of Syria at this rate and god knows what Turkey is doing

Assad is trying to put a final stand in Damascus until the YPG and HTS eventually clash

Calm down Dear, Syria is not Northern Iraq.

There are a lot of tribes, few to none mountains and they have no majority.

PKK/YPG terrorists living in a dream. A bitch's dream of course, they are seperating their legs whoever whisper a nice words to their ear. One day they will awake and cry why they were cheated, AGAIN.

Such images circulate throughout the day on opposition telegram channels, its just an example. In residential areas, a relocation maneuver by a Russian air defense system can be recorded instantly from any window in any building and spread over instantly. OSINT is a field that should not be underestimated and in some specific cases it has almost become a decisive role.

So again are we gonna make the same mistake and not commit? Because right now the rebels are more concerned about steamrolling Assadist forces and reaching Damascus meanwhile the ypg will grab as much land as possible while most assadist forces retreat or disband.

What is it gonna be? Are we doing the same shit over and over again or are we actually gonna go in? Why has Manbij not yet been taken over? Why are we watching as Deir-Ez-Zor is being handed over to the ypg on a free platter by Assad?

Because right now I do not believe one sec that the rebels will turn their attention east once they feel they have dealt enough damage to assad.

I think even if HTS is persuaded to make a deal with YPG right now, them gaining power at the expense of Assad, Iranians and Russia is a good thing for us in the long run. In the other scenario, Assad wouldn't have had the base of support to start contesting northern cities, and uncontested YPG might have had chances to extend south-westward. Now, to assume that HTS simply will be good boys for U.S. and allow YPG and them passage or a route westward is putting too much faith in the prescience of American political actors.

As I said, Assad gave nearly all the country to the PKK in return, they will fight the HTS while Assad attempting the impossible in order to salvage a stable base, that is Damascus, and starts to regroup

And again, I wonder why Turkey is doing nothing? And what about the Manbij operation that have been talked about for nearly 10 days straight till now?

There werent even any dronestrikes to back up the Tal rifaat operations, I dont know why we keep telling ourselves that something will be done lol. Thankfully SNA managed to cut the ypg/pkk corridor in time.

i was right to be suspicious about him he didnt move a finger against YPG. formula is simple autonomy in iraq now in syria then turkey later iran then independence
from HTS point of view theey have nothing to gain from fighting sdf forces whilst assads entire army is crumbling. The territorial gains speak for themselves. Once Assad falls and HTS solidifies power they can choose to either negotiate or fight sdf forces. Hopefully they will keep demanding some kind of formal autonomy which HTS will most likely reject.

Manbij not being taken speaks volume. We should also not forget that it is not only hts fighting. There thousands if not ten thousand Turkish-backed rebels participating in this. Either we have lost control of those groups are the government does not care about what everybody can clearly see is about to happen. ypg positions west of the river would have crumbled in days with drone strikes, especially now that we actually have some in inventory than also can carry Cruise Missiles and Glide Bombs and not only MAM-C and MAM-L.

If ypg takes Palmyra we will see americans change their tune on supporting what is happening on the ground especially with Trumps cabinet being filled with war hawk neo cons who want to bomb Iran.

Other than artillerly strikes against infiltration attempts by the ypg there has been maybe other than intelligence no real support in the north.

This government once again is failing in syria. What a suprise.

Relax about the kurds they are just a minority group. Abdi mazlum is in dialogue with Turkey to join TFSA. They are not unreasonable.

Turkey has more kurds why not hunt them down all? Ofcourse not majority are just civilians.

Someone really needs to pin this response for all members to see

If PKK takes most of the country, then why on earth would Trump even wanna retreat when all the country and its resources are in his pocket..... it is literally free land. The only reason Trump wanted to leave is because his soldiers were fighting Iran, Assad, Russia, and Turkey. With nearly all of such forces completely crumpled, the country is like a free cake waiting to be eaten

Once again Turkey will just sit on the sidelines and watch everything unfold until its too late. At this point I wouldnt even be suprised if the SNA conducts an operation to take Manbij on their own accord, without Turkish assistance. What is the government afraid of? The iranians left, the russians backed down and the US is just observing until Trumps takes office. We have the most to win and loose, yet we do nothing. Hopefully the sdf land grab operation will cause their forces to overstretch and make operations in the north easier
