Why,because they have the same big brother?
Didnt the PKK kill and kick out their Arab bretherns from other places in Syria?
Does it make sense to you?
In every civil war, that is important to not to fight many but a single enemy at first.

Like the Red army in Russian civil war

This is not even the first time they came close actually. Past US operations in Idlib pocket also saw some YPG/HAT members joining. They are not cordial, but HTS doesn't think they are the real target, I don't think they ever did. HTS will always have its eyes set on Assad. It was good that SNA was there in the north.

They will also keep a more neutral stance to get more concessions from Turkey and weigh in their potential. HTS can't exist without Turkey, that's not changed, but we have never been direct partners nor we ever had the same relationship with them we had with TFSA and then SNA.

If PMF reinforcements coming from Iraq is stopped in Bukamal and they are not a threat, we might actually even see a Salvation led new government in Syria in the future. That's why I said when all this started that Turkey is not the main instigator of this new offensive, we are in for the ride. I do hope Jolani doesn't forget about us once he finds true power and new responsibilities.

Bro, PKK and HTS both has ties to the US and Israel. Moreover, it is highly speculated that some elements of the HTS are actually former ISIS remnants whom were created by the same US which created the YPG

The only reason Turkey supports them is because of the modus operandi "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" since as far as my info goes, even the Turks dont like the HTS very much. Probably one of the reasons why the TSK isnt actively helping the war while at the same time keeping the door open for Assad for striking a deal

Russia and Iran shouldnt bitch about the astana deal.

Whatever agreements come to Russia and Iran it is toilet paper to them.

Assad was so arrogant towards Turkiye he thought Russia and Iran would cover his ass.

Iranian militias did their best to kill Turkish soldiers while Russia murdered 33 Turkish soldiers.

I dont blame Ukraine for not going to the table to meet with Russia. Because they even know whatever agreements they sign with Russia will be treated like toilet paper to the Russian Bear.

Why would they allow that,so stupid?
Because a figth with entrenched enemy in a city is extremely costly with respect to man power, civilian casualties and destroyed buildings. It is simply much better to let them go without figth and heavy weapons. this way, you can take the figth at their place where you can use your heavy weapons.

Turkey doen not want to see large number of civilian casualties or destroyed cities as we aim to relocate refugees to these places.

One of the strategies Russia used effectively to screw the rebels and revolting Syrian population was to keep offering peace deals where the rebels could leave an area and move further up north. They kept doing it over and over again and eventually the rebels/civilian population were all relocated to idlib. Only Turkish intervention stopped them all from being driven further into Turkiye and completely removed from Syria. So basically they were bombing the syrians into submission, then offering them a peace deal to leave the city without a fight. Once they left to another further back city, they would repeat the cycle.

What's taken place in Allepo could be a similar strategy, their immediate concern is Assad/Iranian/Russian forces. Its better to let the regional prostitutes leave while they contend with bigger fish. What's important is that they secure land. In the long run that's what's going to matter most. Control of the land is basically the facts on the ground.

But i agree with what asena great said, our main focus should be the pkk, its the primary focus of the americans, isrealis. We should only harm Assad as much as it creates pressure for him to concede to our demands in the north. Not so much that it forces him to bend over for the americans/pkk to our detriment. So when he was talking about he will only talk with the Turks when all the invaders are out, acting all arrogant and condescending, then naturally it left Turkiye no choice put to put the dog in his place. Now his people are talking. Just enough pressure to get the deal that secures Turkish security concerns and no more pressure after that.

either way, Turkiye has to be prepared for all eventualities. Personally i think the shia axis created such a mess in syria that the country is going to balkanised, its imperative for Turkiye that north comes under Turkish control, or under the control of entities who are friendly towards Turkiye.

The danger ofcourse with erdogan is he's ok with a kurdistan in syria, when the war broke out if anyone remembers as long as the pkk stayed east of the river he was ok with them, it was only once they crossed the river that it became a problem.

I think the logic the islamists of Turkiye are employing is a belief that as long as Turkiye controls the major ways in and out of the region, it will bring the entire Kurdish population centres under Turkish control. He's quite happy for a kurdistan as long as its under Turkish dominion, because that way he believes it cannot be used against Turkiye.

The operation east of the river was really about giving Turkiye a foothold should plans be made to create a kurdistan against Turkiye, that foothold would be used as justification and launch pad should the need arise.

In a propaganda video released by HTS, a militant turns the page with the image of Aleppo Citadel and looks at a new image

Manbij is surrounded and can only be supplied by 2 bridges on the Euphrates river. If SNA blows up those bridges Manbij is basically cut off from the rest of the YPG areas. After Manbij falls there will be a similar situation for Ain Al Arab (Kobane).

Maybe you can pray with pseudo Islamists , that together with Europeans you will do something, but even then you have tried it so many times before and it cost you 1,5 cases of cannibalism. Let see and wait.
By the way, when you will take Dimbass? 2034?
Well hope Turkey leading this operation would be more successful than this?

I think killing a 1000 plus isis with no air defense is easier than a million Ukrainians with 40 plus countries supporting them

Guys, are there any news regarding the HAMA or Kobani offensives?
Today, it seems that no further advancements are reported.......

The longer the control of Hama is delayed, the more difficult it will be for the current HTS to preserve its hard fought gains

I wrote this before the Tel Rifaat operation started. The town is completely filled with concrete tunnels down to the Minag airbase, from underground. They had built the entire strategy based on defense against the TSK. While the US and Russia were pressuring Turkiye politically, they would also be pressuring Turkiye with media pressure and headlining so-called civilian massacres. The Holy Quran 8/30 actually explains the situation a little bit.

Anyway, If the SNA manages to clear this area with minimal losses, it will have truly proven its maturity.

There is a provocation attempt in Şişhane Square. PKK-related groups are protesting SNA and Joint Opposition Forces' operation, the police have surrounded the group. There are provocateurs who are trying to stir up nerves that will force the police to intervene harshly.
