Danish Terma and German Diehl Defence have entered into a new development agreement to strengthen cooperation on future defense products and technologies.

The agreement builds on more than ten years of collaboration between the two companies within, among other things, ground-based air defense systems and missile qualification.

The goal is to combine the companies' technological competencies to develop new solutions for future defense needs.

Terma states this in a press release.

"Diehl Defence has been a trusted partner for Terma for more than a decade, and we are proud to build on that strong foundation through this agreement. The changing security environment calls for closer collaboration between leading European defense companies, and by combining our respective strengths, we can accelerate the development of innovative capabilities that support customers' operational needs," says Thomas Flarup, CCO at Terma.

- Based on our shared experiences and technological synergies, Diehl Defence and Terma will investigate and assess the potential for further joint activities. The details will be clarified through upcoming analyses, which will include market segments such as space activities, C-UAS systems, air defense applications and cooperation on various programs initiated by the European Union, says Harald Buschek, CPO at Diehl Defence.

In addition to the product-related goals, which are to create value for both parties, the collaboration with Terma also underlines Diehl Defence's long-term commitment to Denmark – both to the Danish customer, who acquired the IRIS-T SLM ground-based air defence system in 2025, and to the high-tech Danish defence industry. The collaboration will also support both companies' internationalisation strategies in markets outside Denmark and Germany.
