The Shepetivka Repair Plant, in accordance with a joint decision with the Ministry of Defense, tested the latest Bureviya multiple rocket launcher, which is designed to replace the obsolete Hurricane MLRS in the Armed Forces.
The fire tests of the new MLRS, which recently took place at one of the military training grounds, were exclusively filmed by Defense Express .
MLRS "Storm" is made in the caliber of 220 mm and can use all available rockets for the "Hurricane", as well as new, with an increased range from 35 to 65 km range of targets developed by CB "South" under the program "Typhoon-2 ».
The new jet system from the Shepetivka Repair Plant is equipped with a digital fire control system, including an information exchange system on the battlefield. This allows the Storm to be included in a single reconnaissance and strike circuit, when information from reconnaissance vehicles, such as UAVs, is transmitted online to the means of destruction. This minimizes the time from target detection to destruction in minutes.
"The Burevia tests are being carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, which is interested in this machine. Conceptual approach in its creation: maximum digitalization, increasing the firing range, mobility, as well as the comfort and safety of the military. We have fully developed and manufactured the entire package of guides and guidance system. They are integrated into the new high-altitude chassis, which will be further equipped with a fully armored cab, "said Oleg Turinsky, director of Shepetivka Repair Plant.
"Storm" is located on the chassis T815-7T3RC1 8x8 Czech Tatra, which belongs to the latest generation of military vehicles of the company and has a high passability, top speed of over 100 km / h, level of economy and ergonomics.
"For the Ministry of Defense, one of the main priorities is a qualitative renewal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, in the matter of long-range artillery systems, which should not only extend the range, but also be located on modern reliable mobile platforms. Currently, a large proportion of such systems in the Armed Forces are still deployed on obsolete Soviet machines that are already running out of resources. Given the fact that despite the large number of orders for the Ukrainian army KrAZ is now in bankruptcy, we have to find an alternative. In the event that Bureviy passes all the tests, the issue of transition of the Armed Forces to new wheeled platforms will be considered., which meet all the requirements of NATO member countries, with the further localization of their production in Ukraine ", - said Defense Express Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksandr Myronyuk.
It will be recalled that the Neptune coastal missile system will also be ordered on the Tatra chassis .
