Seems like a pretty strong move by Tesla, and it'll likely kill off TOGG.

And this

I don't think TOGG will survive, much less as much as Anadolu did back when Koc launched it.
more like "Turkish EV market became too big to ignore and we'd like to participate in an official manner!"
hell, Tesla could assemble in Türkiye if the Lira keeps tanking. would improve their production quality too.

Tesla can not get any privileges from Türkiye, it is no different than any other.
I believe TOGG will be protected against foreign competition.
There is no easy entrance in the market.

The argument in the past was that EV was the future and we needed to be ahead in the game. So if TOGG is going to have success, the government would need to make the right incentives to give it an edge.

Luxury branding is worth nothing if it costs more than the consumers are willing to pay for it, and it isn't performing up to par with existing known brands.

The advantage of existing brands are their known customer service and aftersales support. Several others have already mentioned this before. Who'd buy a vehicle with unknown customer service record ?

Vestel lost in the smartphone market due to aftersale support/service. I do not imagine it's going to be any different for TOGG. This is my prediction based on the past occurances.

Granted if the state foots the bill any company can offer the best aftersale support. "you're car has a screw loose, no worries here new car complements of the state".

That's not how we want it to be either.

The cheapest Tesla Model 3 is around 50k €, thats around 760.000 Lira. They are not going to win the mass market with that. Neither will TOGG if they dont offer something smaller than that SUV.

You are mistaken, SUVs are the second biggest car classification by sale volume in 2021, And Togg's second car will be a sedan So They will have an offer for most customer.

One charging station cost €30.000, and we need at least 250.000 units (by Karatas).

Just imagine the amount of chemicals and CO2 emitted to produce just one such battery. Forget about the whole car or the energy it will use etc. But yeah... long live the Green Revolution. :D

What kind of argument. Even all things considered, the EV is greener and depending on how you calculate it completely green after a couple of years.

And most of those emissions are from the production, because the electricity used for it is you know not green. The chemicals can be reused/recylced.

Look up the cobalt and lithium mines. That shit has to digged up no different than oil, coal or gas. Dont forget how the mines are polluting cities and villages especially in the Congo.

So how is the electric car more greener than the petrol car?

Not to mention lithium and cobalt are toxic not handled properly. Im wondering how they are going to get recycled.

Here is in debt analysis of Carbon emission of EV and ICE/İnternal combustion engine vehicles;

Here is dumb down article on the same topic

In short Yes BEV's are greener if you wanna use it more than a couple months

EVs are magnitudes greener than combustion engines but they are not zero emission products.
