TAI is hiring approximately 1200 engineers per year.
Around 400 leave the company, and 200 of those approximately go abroad every year.

the number of people migrating is only going to increase this year due to low pay ( when converted to $ ) and unfortunately the negligence of democracy and the lack of tolerance of citizens . Turkey has changed alot in the past 10 years for some in a good in my opinion a bad way. anyway this isn't the right place but im not sure if the number of people migrating is something to brag about. if people are leaving then there is a problem , this problem should be adressed not dodged by stating their is more joining then leaving IMHO

Why comparing it with dollar and not LIRA? A engineer working in TUSAS earns enough money to live in Turkey like a king.

Try to emphasise with them , the same profession done in Europe or any other country will earn them minimum 2-3 times more . Life is more then eating and drinking these may be cheap compared to the world but technology, cars, holiday general luxuries etc. prices fluctuate according to the dollar . be patrioitc as much as you want but to study your whole life and do your undergraduate or even masters and work in a prestigious work environment that generates bilions of dollars to be unable to buy goods /drive cars that ordinary workers in Europe buy / drive can make a person think twice about their choices. these are just examples and are the visible side of the iceberg , the defence sector is a very stresfull yet 'rewarding' environment. however , one aspect that makes our products desirable for other countries is its cost effectiveness , this is possible thanks to cheaper labour raising wages means expensive products, expensive products means potentially less customers = less revenue . in simple terms it is a iki ucu b.klu değnek

The problem is the social and political atmosphere in the country. They earn more money in Turkiye than in Europe. This atmosphere will not change as long as President Erdoğan is there. Because his rhetoric, his way of expression and speech is not good. Also, he is always fighting with the history of our Republic.

In our country, meritlessness, bribery and nepotism are already God's commandment.

Not to mention Syrian and Afghan immigrants.

Maybe you all know this Defensenews article from 2019 …

Today I learned that TAI has 12,000 employees, that‘s a lot of man- and brainpower.
Ignore such articles mate
If this was true, then TAI wouldnt have completed projects like TFX or even possess 12,000 employees! If the brain drain was soo big that severe brain drain took place from 2019 onwards, then no project wouod have been completed

Western media tend to demean the Turkish defence industry by any means; since they dont like what Turkey is achieving as this will not only create a big competitor to their monopoly but also give the rise for a new playmaker in the international arena which something that the West will go to the point of destroying Turkey itself rather than seeing it occur

Temil Kotil himself stated that major Western defence companies are offering salaries which are 3 times higher than the normal market price in order to cripple TAI for good! If Turkish engineers werent patriotic then TAI would have been long gone.

Finally, it is normal to see western companies more flourishing as they have history of top quality products while TAI is still growing. If the Turkish populace isnt ready to make sacrifices to grow, then Turkey itself wont grow and this is primarily the Western aim

And the proverb says it all: Rome wasnt built in a day

Brain drain is still a real thing in Turkiye.

Certainly and it will remain a big defect in Turkey for at least another decade unless Turkey develop its own infrastructure and foreign companies wooes Turkish engineers by paying 3 times more than the market rate stops.

As I said, Rome wasnt built in a day and Turkey needs time to build and develop; moreover, Turkey has a lot of hardcore nationals and this aids Turkey in achieving what it needs as long as it has Political will (A really important factor here)

Even those who leave Turkey aids it from abroad and eventually returns when Turkey stabilises

When you work at an established western tech company:

-Working hours are great. You have time for family, friends and yourself.
-You live in a safe part of a western country. Which means better social environment especially for women.
-You are in a more professional setting most of the time. Some asshole put in place for nepotistic reasons doesn't crush your enthusiasm, most of the time.

These are what you gain. Against all of these stands simple patriotism. We as Turks can never repay our defence industry workers, engineers and even managers in a thousand years.

TUSAŞ's New Chase Plane: DA62

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) has added a new chase plane to its inventory. The twin-engine, propeller-driven DA62, manufactured by the Austrian company Diamond, has joined TUSAŞ's fleet. According to a special report by the website www.tolgaozbek.com, the aircraft has begun being used in tests.

In flight tests, aerial tracking of prototypes is of great importance. Pilots and engineers aboard the chase plane maintain constant communication with other aircraft or helicopters, contributing to the execution of tests.

TUSAŞ recently retired the S-2E Tracker aircraft, which it had used for many years and had modified with a turboprop engine in the late 1990s.

After searching for a new chase plane, TUSAŞ reached an agreement with the Austrian company Diamond. The aircraft, delivered last week, has been brought to TUSAŞ facilities in Ankara.

For Both Flight Training and Military Platforms

The DA62, which can be used for both training and Multi-Mission Platform (MMP) roles, can be equipped with cameras and various external loads. With modifications, consoles placed in the rear section allow test engineers to monitor the chase plane from the air in real-time.

The aircraft, which can accommodate up to seven seats, can reach a speed of 192 knots (approximately 355 km/h). It can fly at altitudes of up to 20,000 feet with a cabin pressurization system and has a range of 2,385 km.

The aircraft is equipped with two Austro Engine AE330 engines, each producing 180 horsepower, allowing it to stay in the air for over 11 hours.

A Museum at TUSAŞ

TUSAŞ is also working on establishing a museum that will feature prototypes like ZİU and YARASA, as well as the S-2 Tracker.
