Zaranj (BNA) Twenty soldiers were rescued from Taliban prison during clearing operation.


The soldiers were captured in recent months during Taliban attacks across the country.


According to reports, the security forces rescued 17 ANA soldiers and three police officers in an operation last night against a Taliban prison in Khashroud district.


Maiwand Corps in the southwest of the country said in a news release that seven armed Taliban, including Mawlawi Bashir senior commander of this group, were killed in the operation.


The corps acknowledges that seventeen ANA soldiers and three police officers were rescued from the Taliban during a military operation.


At the end of the operation, the security forces destroyed the Taliban hideout and prison.


The armed Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
