Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) using ANKA UAV technology, Aksungur made its first flight operation on behalf of the General Directorate of Forestry this year. Adana-based flying Aksungur broke the record by staying in the air for 60 hours.
According to the news in the 123rd issue of TAI Magazine, he also played a role in the rescue of three fire watchtower employees during these record flights. Making an important contribution to the management of the operation from the air, Aksungur also contributed to the early detection of many fires in the Adana region. In the past months, the system has exceeded a thousand hours in total in flight tests.
THE FIRST USER OF AKSUNGUR, THE NAVAL FORCES
The Naval Forces Command had shifted some of the ANKA orders given to TAI to Aksungur. Its first delivery is expected this year.
Aksungur, which will complete the delivery of 4 systems by the end of the year, will be an important power especially for the Naval Forces with its long stay in the air and the load it carries.
Currently, there are 6 ANKA-B and 8 Bayraktar TB2 UAVs in the inventory of the Turkish Naval Forces Command.
