The MiG's either in OCA or DCA mission will only play into the Russian strength and prolly ended getting mauled. Russian air force has a clear advantage in

1. Weapons platform
2. The weapons carried by the fighters themselves (Ukraine doesn't have ARH AAM, only IR and SARH missile)
3. Situational awareness (AWACS)

Any Ukrainian attempt to challenge the VVS in a traditional air warfare manner is suicidal by nature. Multiple Ukrainian attempts to challenge the VVS ended in failure. On the other hand the greatest killer of the VVS remains the excellent Ukrainian mobile SAM system which could shoot and scoot while maintaining strict and effective EMCON measures to avoid Russian wild weasel op.

And when it comes to killing the Russians armored column, the TB-2 again and again has proven itself unchallenged by the dense Russian A2/AD and EW bubbles.

So what Ukraine really need right now is the delivery of more TB-2s and its MAM-L munitions, more MANPADS and MERAD SAM systems.
