So ungrateful!!

If Turkiye did not implement Montreux then the Russians would have descended upon Ukrainian waters with their Baltic, Artic and Pacific fleets regrouping alongside the black sea fleet.

Then will see what they will do to Ukraine.
Well that's the West for you. Even with all that help, you'll find NAFO trolls denigrating your country and your head of state.

If I'm Erdogan, I'm stopping the military aid completely if any officials from the West criticized my commitment to Montreux.

Montreux Treaty blocks any kind of warship.

If we are blocking Russian ships but allowing UK and even American warships into the black sea it sets a dangerous precedent.

Turkiye and Russia have been enemies for centuries but we also have religious, cultural and ethnic ties there due to their huge Muslim population and the Turkic peoples who live inside Russia.

Plus Istanbul and Kazan are considered sister cities.

People are retarded to think Turkiye should cut all of its ties to Russia.

US and Allies Met Secretly With Ukraine on Peace Plan

Russia wasn’t invited to meeting in Riyadh and China didn’t go

Allied efforts to win support for Kyiv’s approach sputtering

A secret meeting took place last month between Ukraine, its Group of Seven allies and a small group of Global South countries to try to rally support for Kyiv’s conditions for holding peace talks with Russia, according to people familiar with the matter.

The previously undisclosed Dec. 16 meeting of national security advisers was held in Saudi Arabia .

“Ukraine and its G-7 allies continued to resist calls from the countries of the Global South for direct interaction with Russia. Representatives of India, Saudi Arabia and Turkey took part in the meeting. China, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates did not send their negotiators,” the publication claims.

Kyiv and its G7 allies reiterated their view that a just peace must respect Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty and said Russian President Vladimir Putin's goals had not changed. He has shown no signs of serious desire to negotiate on substance and is not honoring previous agreements. Allies have signaled they will continue to support Ukraine, and the EU and US have expressed confidence that support packages will be agreed upon.

Ukraine and its allies have planned another larger meeting in Switzerland next week. Negotiations are due to take place in Davos ahead of the World Economic Forum. According to sources, representatives from more than 100 countries have been invited.

Some powers believe it is premature to hold a leader-level summit in the coming months, while others want to immediately involve Russia in the negotiation process.

- He was finally extracted, and is now in hospital. Heroyam Slava

Ukraine 🇺🇦 should seek peace, only when they as a nation are ready to do so. The West should respect their wishes to make that decision and continue to support them as much as possible in their destruction of the Russian army in the meantime. It's costing us pennies on the dollar (compared to our other spending) to make the price tag for Russia's aggression extremely high. Every dollar we spend, is a dollar they're forced to spend in matching our efforts... In the long term, that will only exacerbate the misery felt by their declining population and dying culture, as social system inputs are stripped to fund the war and inflation continues to ravage their country as they're forced to sell all of their foreign currency to prop up the Ruble.

If we can spend trillions to combat Covid-19, what's a couple hundred billion usd, spread out between 30+ countries to make the lives of miserable Russians worse?

That said, the day Ukrainians decide that this war is no longer worth fighting, I fully respect their wishes to seek peace. After all, it's they who are paying the ultimate sacrifice. It's only tax dollars in the West that we sacrifice.

If Ukraine can hang on another 8'ish months, their supply of artillery shells is going to grow exponentially as we move towards 2025.

Here is recent breakdown of expanding Western artillery shell production capacity. It will increase substantially throughout 2024, and by 2025 the West's shells production will be more than enough to keep Ukrainian artillery pieces firing is near perpetuity.

2025 capacity...

USA DOD: 1,200,000
Rheinmetall: 700,000-800,000
BAE: 500,000-750,000
Nexter: 120,000-150,000
Europlasma: 150,000-180,000
General Dynamics: 50,000-75,000
South Korea: 200,000-300,000
Poland: 75,000-100,000
Czech Republic: 75,000-100,000
Sweden: 75,000-100,000
Finland: 75,000-100,000
Ukraine domestic: 75,000-100,000
All other sources: 200,000-300,000

By 2025 the West will have the capacity to produce between 4,000,000-4,500,000 artillery shells per year. If 2,500,000 of those shells go to Ukraine, they'll have the capacity to fire more than 208,000 shells per month, a sustained rate of 7,000 shells per day. Among those shells will be tens of thousands of GPS guided shells, that are extremely deadly when combined with Western counter battery RADAR.

It looks that in the reality, the people from your nick of wood prefer Armenians.
I have always find if interesting that some countries would like that Azerbaijan gives Kharabah to Armenians a cut from oil and gas export . Free hands in Turkey etc and for such a great honor Turks and Azeris would have chance to fight for The Western interests.
Bizarre

ruZZia:
- Putin's fascist regime is 'solving' the infrastructure collapse that left hundreds of thousands without heat with arrests:
In Podolsk, head of the boiler house, general director of the plant, and deputy head of the city administration have been arrested.
Next they will be send to east in to prisoners camp.

In ruzzian empire there are no laws, there are no state, only orders from putin thug or his mafia circle are valid.

I'm still in contact with 2 x friends i made in Moscow while i was there in 2012

Both are serving on the front lines, in different units, in different areas of operations.

Both have told me the same thing, and the messages are so similar its almost spooky, this is by the way with them not knowing each other or in contact with the other.

They have both seperately asked me if i can help them in someway if they desert and manage to somehow make it to an EU country, and both have said the amount of armoured vehicles they have lost is staggering, and entire tank crews are deserting rather than advance. They are more terrified and low on morale than the infantry. They mention entire armoured groups with barely a serviceable vehicle available at the moment, and one tells me of his unit having to report back to command on fictitious attacks they invent as they simply cannot follow many of the orders they are given. He lives in constant fear of being found out and executed / imprisoned for disobeying orders.

Take that for what you will, but they have no reason to lie, and to me it speaks volumes as to how things are really going. They've sent me pictures and these poor guys are unrecognisable from the men i got to know, and they are I imagine like many troops on the russian side who are desperately looking for any way to get out.

What a terrible terrible war Putin has started :-(

President of Lithuania: Ukraine will receive M577 armored personnel carriers in February
14:35, 01/10/24
Lithuania will provide Ukraine with a new aid package
A package of long-term military assistance to Ukraine worth 200 million euros has been approved.

Iran 'close' to providing ballistic missiles

The partnership would become even more significant with the delivery of Iranian surface-to-surface ballistic missiles to Russia - far more lethal and harder to shoot down than drones.

The EU is slowly resolving the issue of using Russian assets: a number of countries are afraid - FT

01/10/24

The European Union is slowly resolving the issue of using Russian assets

In particular, some officials from Belgium, which currently holds the presidency of the European Council, fear that the country may not be the best mediator.

Belgium's new responsibilities as the country that currently holds the EU presidency could complicate the issue of using blocked Russian assets to help Ukraine, writes the Financial Times.

“As the Group of Seven countries mulls how to use some 260 billion euros of Russian central bank assets to benefit Ukraine, European countries are taking the first steps toward using the profits from those assets,” the article says.

It is noted that European officials are working on how to transfer Russian assets to Kyiv, but are afraid of negative consequences. Therefore, they work to seize only the excess profits that financial institutions receive from owning these assets. On Wednesday, January 10, representatives of EU member states are meeting to discuss this option.

‘It is time for Zelensky to close the war and save future destruction. The war is un-winnable for Ukraine.

we heard the same narratives a month before the war even started. The reality is this war can be closed very quickly, the USA just needs to give them the weapons to do it. Weapons in which they have an absolute abundance in.

The real problem is whether an outright victory for Ukraine is good for the USA. If Ukraine capitulates land, they (USA) win what remains of Ukraine to their side while keeping the Russian threat alive to cajole europeans into American arms. While also keeping Ukraine as a card against Russia should they need to restart hostilities.

Estonia 🇪🇪 announced a commitment of $220 million usd for Ukrainian defense, each year between 2024-2028, totaling $1.3 billion usd. Some people may scoff at that commitment as relatively insignificant, but keep in mind that Estonia is home to little more than 1 million people. That is a substantial multi-year commitment for a country with a gdp as small as Estonia's ($37 Billion). It amounts to about 0.60% of their nation's GDP.

For comparison sake, if USA 🇺🇸 committed 0.60% of their GDP to Ukrainian defense between 2024-2028, they would be sending the Ukrainians $139 Billion usd each year, or $695 Billion usd over 5 years.

Bravo Estonia 🇪🇪!!
