Looking at the recent vector of advance. They're likely converging bit by bit for Pokrovsk

Why the Pentagon calmly ignores the inapplicability of the GLSDB to the realities of war

GLSDB in the conditions of an active EW has demonstrated low effectiveness, and this is about the real capabilities of the GBU-39/B, and although the US may not care about it, this cannot be said about the six other operator countries and the same number that ordered it

Despite the fact that GLSDB were supposed to allow attacking targets at a distance of 150 km and become a long arm for the Armed Forces, their real practical use on the battlefield showed their low effectiveness. It will be recalled that this was reported by US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Procurement and Supply Bill LaPlante, noting that the reason was the EW factor, the peculiarities of tactics and the availability of equipment, as well as the doctrine of their use and organization.

If we divide the named reasons into components in detail, the only technical side is the reduction of GLSDB accuracy in conditions of suppression of satellite navigation. This does not mean that it does not hit anywhere at all, because the inertial guidance system works in the conditions of EW. It's just that the deviation from the target becomes larger and is already measured not in 1-3 meters, but in 30-50 meters.

Turkiye may supply T-155 Firtina howitzers to Ukraine. In fact, there have been rumors for a couple of weeks, but Turkish news sources had not confirmed them, but today at least news started to appear from reliable sources. Ukraine will probably buy 12 T-155 Firtina.

This issue will be discussed during Erdoğan's visit to the USA, America will probably finance it. In addition, Turkiye supplied Ukraine with a large number of military equipment, including TB2, T-122 Sakarya MLRS, Armored vehicles and 155 MM Ammunition.

❗Constant assaults, everyday, sometimes 24 hours in a day

❗"as many as 100 to 150 glide bombs can be launched into a sector a day”, a statement that suggests official Ukrainian military claims that 3,500 hit the frontlines in the first 77 days of the year may be an underestimate. The weapons can carry 500kg or 1.5 tonnes of explosives, the latter of which can “blow a crater 30 metres wide and 7 to 10 metres deep”,

❗“more or less stable” artillery mismatch of five to one in favour of the Russians, though he believes it is closer to 10 to one in the most intense sectors of the front"

Erdogan's visit to the USA has been postponed

It has been reported that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to the USA on May 9 has been postponed. The change in question was made upon Turkey's request.

It seems that Ankara thought: - if Biden wants to buy Turkish weapons for Ukraine, then it is not Erdogan who should go to Washington, but Biden should come to Ankara and ask Erdogan :)

The Abrams has been pulled out from the front, citing Russia's drone threat.

My guess has nothing to do with drone. But my earlier assumption that Ukraine under Zelensky is prepping up for another repetition of last year's Summer offensive. They're likely currently consolidating the equipment for such offensive.

It's high time to capture as much land as possible for RF and then fortify. Ukraine is guaranteed to repeat their offensive at some point this year or early next year.

Here was Ukraines last counteroffensive "plan" from last Spring.

The results of that great counteroffensive.
View attachment 1714317840583.jpeg
Ukraine got the same amount of funding like they are currently getting now when their last counteroffensive got launched with the same amount of equipment. They were supposed to capture three cities and four towns and all villages in between. They didn't even get close just 6km of their planned 190km after six months of action. All primary, secondary and tertiary objectives were failed. Results were 14 villages captured and the Russians have not launched any major offensive back at them yet and captured more villages than them with the collapse still going on

Not only do they need to round up the bodies with assistance from Poland and Lithuania, but the equipment will be basically the same.

And you think the West is any different?

Of course not. In every country, most recruits come from the poorest regions. This is exactly what I was saying in my previous posts. The West has a big problem with recruitment because it has very few poor regions, and the vast majority of the population has a high standard of living, so they don’t want to join the army.

It is much easier for countries with high poverty rates to recruit soldiers than it is for wealthy countries.

Call it what you want. But MAGA is something you would expect when there's an economic downturn and your government is busy spending money on other nations.

You don’t need special economic circumstances for slogans like “I will give you the money instead of giving it to someone else” to be attractive for the uneducated masses. The same tactics work both in boom times and in economic downturns. People are greedy and they always want more money for themselves. It doesn’t matter if they are poor, middle class or even wealthy. They always want more money.

The same we're seeing now. As I said, the moment the West fought a major war which requires the sacrifice of many men, that's the moment they realize that their population is no longer willing to do the burden.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you here. The West is too wealthy for people to be willing to make sacrifices.

IMO the Americans experienced their peak when it comes to quality of life around the 50s to early 60s. When the Vietnam War just started, families would enthusiastically gather in front of their TVs to listen to the latest developments in Viet Nam. Young men age 18 would tell their family and friends that they're serving.

If your theory is all about "Good life = not willing to sacrifice" then it doesn't explain why Americans in the 50s are so eager to join the war in Vietnam.

This is just an illusion of the “good old days” to think that the peak of quality of life in America was in the 50s to 60s. The peak of quality of life is now. People earn much more and work much less than they did back then. They have a much easier life now.

Of course, the current standard of living is unsustainable for the long term, as it is partially funded by increasing debt and the abuse of the US dollar as the global reserve currency, but this doesn’t change the fact that Americans today have a much higher standard of living than they had 70 years ago.

They didn’t even have computers and smartphones back than, how can you even compare?

Which in the end dictates who will prevail.

This is no longer the immediate post-Cold War era, where American power could dictate the behavior of other countries from their embassies. The era where the one's having more money will prevail is basically over.

Wealthy countries have an advantage in technology and organization, but have a disadvantage in manpower. It all boils down to who manages to use its strengths better.

Some additional aid news for Ukraine...

USA 🇺🇸 has purchased 81 Soviet era jets from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 including SU-24s, Mig-29s and Mig-31s. These jets are not air worthy and will not fly in the Ukrainian military. Rather, they'll be used as a source of spares for Ukraine's existing aircraft fleet.

Canada 🇨🇦 will donate an additional 100 Sky Ranger drones to Ukraine, bringing the total committed to 900. Additionally, they're adding an additional $13 million usd to the Czech 🇨🇿 initiative to purchase shells for Ukraine, bringing the new total committed to $53 million usd.

It is started

Biden has approved the confiscation of approximately $8 billion in Putin's funds. This move also started the process of confiscating the full amount of Putin's frozen funds, which is approximately 300 billion U.S. dollars, most of which are in the European Union. At present, the EU, especially Belgium, still has great concerns about this. If Trump takes office and cuts off aid to the Ukrainian military, this $300 billion will become the main source of funding.
