Why such old ships(at least 50 years old)?
Vietnam has enough money to buy new ones,i dont get it?
Those ships will be used for ramming and attacking with water cannons against CN guard ships, not just for patrolling, so we will use all kind of ships against CN as long as the ships still can move ^^.

Beside, its a sign of US's support to VN against CN, too.

At 3.20 mark, I just realised there is Indian flag next to Viet flag.
I wonder if an Indian dignitary was visiting Vietnam at the time. @Viva_vietnamm ?

Likely PM Nehru's visit in 1954 I think, one of first world leaders to visit Vietnam after the Dien Bien Phu victory.

He highly regarded President Ho Chi Minh and they were very friendly with each other.

In 1961, PM Nehru when visiting US, strongly advised them to "stay out" of Vietnam....but they didn't listen.

Nehru told his foreign secretary to again tell the US:
"Tell them, tell them not to go into Vietnam. They will be bogged down and they will never be able to get out."

It is history now, but it set strong bedrock for India - Vietnam relations today which are excellent and getting better each year!
