This is understandable and expected, especially after recent Syrian government (Abu Muhammad Al-Jolani/Ahmad al-Sharaa) aligned forces official or unofficial campaign against minority Druze in Syria.
Syrian government now also known for its relatively considered unfair treatments towards Alawite minorities in Latakia, but Israel don’t help this minorities because it is widely known that this communities basically were the central part of Assad government.
It just part of old Israeli so-called periphery doctrine to help minorities in the region. They have general distrust with Muslim Arabs like Singaporean have general distrust toward Malays on their security and defense. Malays known to be underrepresented on that sectors, especially within submarine forces, cavalry, artillery etc. Yes, there are Malays there, but underrepresented in respect they are second biggest ethnic group in Singapore. Racist? Sort of, but their concerns understandable.
