TS1400 is a turboshaft engine and can be modified to a turboprop engine with relative ease. It can also be modified into a marine or tank turbine with relative ease. All the mentioned engine types are engines that produce torque as output. Which means in layman's term turning power. These engines convert most of the energy generated by the combustion chamber into turning power and the exhaust gas released has very little energy left.

However converting the TS1400 into a turbojet need more modifications. First off; the compressor stage needs to be modified to an axial type from the radial type. This is the major conversion, other than that the power turbine section is slightly different.

Converting to a turbofan and a high bypass turbofan need a lot of modifications to be made. A turbofan engine needs to create more energy to both sustain its operation and also drive a large fan to propel cold air. Therefore it better have a hotter exhaust gas for it to have enough energy for the whole system. Therefore it needs to withstand hotter temperatures than a turboshaft. Therefore also the metallurgical properties should be of higher caliber. A low bypass turbofan is easier to make than a high bypass one as the fan is smaller and needs less energy.

I would say the experience gained from making the TS1400 can be used to make all the other types from scratch rather than converting the TS1400 into other types. The only similarities can be in the thermal power of the size of the combustion chamber. Even that one should be changed to exactly match the power requirement of the intended platform for the new engines.

So the first question is "how much power do you need for your intended platform".

Turbo fan version based of TS1400 would not be able to produce 40kn of thrust, at most it would produce 8-10kn of thrust. TEI needs to work more on Axial compressors, which they have begun doing and are having great success with TJ300 to achieve greater thrust.

A high bypass turbofan engine that can power passenger planes up to 100 seats should be made in the long run. Such an engine can power a size of a plane that can be used in multiples way: a passenger plane, a tanker, a sensor plane, a cargo plane and more. This way we can be self reliant in that area and make the planes we will use for multiple purposes. We will need to buy larger planes ready made.

i also compared them once and wrote here. it was 8-10kn power. its bigger than what antiship missiles need(3 times) and smaller than what jets need. Turkey need to work on TS3000 and from there 25kn engine might come..
