Tanok is 1m long, weighs 11kg with a range of 6km, and yet OMTAS is 1.7m long, weighs 24kg (missile only) but with a range of only 4km? How does that work?

TANOK is more or less a tank barrel launched ATGM with a 6km range. A limited range laser guided ATGM

What gain will it exactly bring?
I'm guessing the intention is that it will function basically like hyper-accurate, self-propelled artillery. If you intend to use it as a regular tank, I can't think of any real advantage over standard ammunition.

It also means you save money on building actual self-propelled artillery since your tanks can now function as both.

It won't act as artillery at all, it will function in the same role as every other tank launched guided missile.

it would make sense for our current tank fleet for instance LEO 2A6 HEL has a slight range advantage because of L /55 till ALTAY arrives may be TANOK is a kind of cure just in case
Hit the nail on the head. Top attack against Leo2A6Hel before the Leo can target our M60T. More accurate targeting of moving tanks or armoured vehicles as an extra advantage.

Just pulling your leg, I'd be surprised if they weren't performing some live firing trials with TANOK. it's certainly been a few years since its appearance.

Isn't this a bit OP ? 16x TRG-300

That should be TRLG-300 judging from the size.

Turkish generals would loose their mind looking at this launcher and wondering how would they plan the logistics and transfer.

" 2 per 4x4 truck is more than enough"

Why not though? It has laser guidance and it all depends how far the designator from tank can illuminate (or how far they are in cooperation with units on the fields or UAVs to illuminate), in my opinion a SAL guidance would allow for accurate indirect fire support.

Could be useful for high value soft targets but the small anti-armour warhead would make it not very effective for much else. Besides, we're already making SAL mortars and artillery rounds for this purpose.

How effective is a 120mm diameter ATGM against modern tanks gonna be, I wonder..
That is a valid question!
Unless we are using a very powerful explosive that we are not aware of, the frontal penetration power of Tanok on modern tanks is open to discussion. But top attack capability of Tanok makes it a missile to be reckoned with.
The Israeli version Lahat has an effective penetration of up to 800 mm of RHA armor steel with its tandem warhead. It is 2kg heavier and travels at just under 0.9 Mach. It is similar in length to Tanok and it’s diameter is 105mm.
