It's 1939.

Germany had a strong authoritarian leader. His party the NSDAP controls everything. Nationalism on the rise. They invested heavily in their military, science and heavy industry. Nuclear research, no nukes. They used softpower as influence like the Olympics of 1936 and German cinema. Boosted birthrate, family was the corner of society. Perversion, sodomy, atheism and cultural marxism out of fashion. Domestic aversion against migrants and auslanders. Uniting with Austria. Militairy operations abroad in Czechoslowakia, the Netherlands, Belgium, France. Border skirmishes with neighboring Poland. Charme offensive in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Only a few friends in Europe like the Italians, Croats and Romanians. Bad relations with both the superpowers US and Soviet Union. Potential superweapons in post-production and trial phase (Wunderwaffen) but to late for the big war.

It's now 2021.

Turkey has a strong authoritarian leader. His party AKP controls everything in the country. Nationalism and Islamism on the rise. Massive investments in the militairy and heavy industry. Nuclear energy research started, no nukes. Lot of softpower like Turkish sitcoms. Boosting birthrate by providing financial gifts. No more Gay Pride. Domestic aversion against Syrian and Afghan migrants. Potential unity with Azerbaijan ("Two states, one people"). Militairy operations abroad in Iraq, Syria, Libya. Border skirmishes with neighboring Greece. Charme offensives in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Only a few friends in Europe like Hungary, Albania, Kosova and Bosnia. Bad relations with both the superpowers Russia and USA. Potentially state-of-the-art weaponry in post-production, but maybe to late for the coming big war.

Honestly I have to say the similarties are pretty chilling man.

I hate the Nazis but not going to deny their place in history. They kicked ass lets not forget it took the whole world to destroy them.

Lets not forget the soft power we have in the Islamic world.

You have Muslims worldwide believing Turkey is the legitmate caliphate.

You still have Muslims who see Turkey as a leader. This is something which Arabs and Iranians dont like.

Indeed, they kicked ass. Fighting a world war on multiple fronts against lots of enemies while they were outnumbered.

They had a lot of courageous and tactical superior generals (Guderian, Von Manstein, Rommel etc).

Their militairy and the SS had a highclass form of discipline and courageously spirit. May God have their souls.

Fortunately there are major differences:

1) Hitler built autarkic economy. Modern Turkish economy is very export oriented.
2) Hitler annexed territories, then started wars. Erdogan has not annexed a single inch so far and did not start any war in nearly 20 years of his rule.

Putin's Russia is closer to Germany of 30-es. Although there are major differences as well.
