Of course you need to buy the propeller + shaft somewhere(sub contracting), why PAL must make it them self.

Few years ago I talked with someone that work in a shipyard, he said that local made propeller is of shite quality, I forgot why I think its about the milling process or something, foreign made have smooth surface and kinclong or something like that.

Well like or dislike this is a bussines, for small hull it may ok because it will not create a botle neck production like the LCS case in our neighbourgh.

Also there are nothing secret in surface ship hull build except for some crucial segment like bridge and other suprastructure. But event fin stabilizer, propeler is another key part that we can afford it in more economical way by subcont them, there are some tech that we don't mastered yet. But it will different story when we talk about submarine hull, but event screw and bold or event rivet they have a diferent standart.. Thanks god we dont follow the US metric system... So why make it dificult by retooling or calibrate our machine if we can get it faster bro

Terma Signs 2 New Naval Contracts in Idonesia​

On August 31st, 2021, we have been awarded a contract to supply a third-party Electronic Support Measures (ESM) systems integrated with our C-Flex Patrol for 6 vessels. We will provide an Electronic Warfare (EW) solution that not only gives the Indonesian Navy the ability to capture, compile and utilize EW data across multiple ships, but also brings advantages in many other areas with the commonality in design and future expansion potential. As part of the overall system design, we are also in close cooperation with a UK EW data management specialist, who will provide a shore station for ESM data processing, storage and dissemination. This combination of system solutions will allow the Indonesian Navy to establish a fully functional ESM database for their fleet.

On the same day, we were also awarded another contract for the upgrade of existing C-Guard systems with Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capabilities for the Sigma-Class Corvettes of the Indonesian Navy. In this program, we will in collaboration with a partner provide an upgrade to enhance the existing AAW (Anti-Air Warfare) capable C-Guard system with ASW capabilities. This C-Guard ASW upgrade program is a follow-on from the previous ASW upgrade contract awarded in 2019 for the same class of ships.

Our newly established Service and Operation Office in Surabaya will play a vital part of the project execution team. These two contracts further consolidate our position and relevance in Indonesia and are testament of the crucial role that Terma Indonesia plays in the development of the company in the country.

if i remember correctly the Scorpene 1000 that were offered to indonesia back in indodefence 2016 have surface displacement over 855 tons, it's a litorral submarine.

but this one is fincantieri...
