In 1990-es when Azerbaijan gained independence Israel-Turkey relationships were on peak, after Erdogan came to power they went to low but Azerbaijan remained same secular so relationships remained good. During 30 years Israel showed as reliable partner with no fear of sanctions. Jews lived in Azerbaijan for centuries without antisemitism. Azerbaijan is not happy with Iran support of Armenia etc

Harpy/Harop drones alone wont be effective vs. well organized multilayer air defence. They should work together with observation drones, missiles etc.

Israel was after Turkey one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan and they established superb relations for 2 reasons; Israel needed oil and could not get this from the Arab countries. And Azerbaijan for his turn need weapons against Armenia. So Israeli weapons to Azerbaijan and Azeri oil to Israel.

Second reason, Israel needs Azerbaijan to counter Iran. The Iranians accused Azerbaijan of cooperating with Israel in the killing of the Iranian nuclear scientist. The Azeri-Iranian border is a free gate for the Mossad.

And Azerbaijan uses Israel as a leverage against Iran, who are supporting Armenia.

Despite the fact that there is a large Christian Armenian minority in Jerusalem (the Armenian quarter), Israel still supports Azerbaijan.
