The 19 Mirages where they served in the Hellenic Air Force are transferred to France

The remaining 19 fighters from the initial market of 40 fighters, Mirage 2000EGM and two-seater BGM, will be withdrawn and transferred to France immediately, as stipulated in the terms of the purchase agreement for the Rafale F3R fighters. The Hellenic Air Force loses its air-to-surface attack capabilities for a long time until the Rafale F3Rs become fully operational with the use of AM-39 Exocet surface-to-air missiles in the Greek operational environment. Only older Mirage 2000EGM / BGMs have this capability as SEG 52 software for the operational use of the Mirage 2000-5 in this role was never installed on aircraft purchased in 1999. The Hellenic Air Force has not had a single AM-39 Exocet operational missile for years as their lifespan expired and they were withdrawn. In fact, their engines with their propellant material burned as their storage was dangerous. It is hoped that by the end of the year the first missiles will have been delivered from the support contract signed just a year ago, after a delay of about a decade. The 19 Mirage 2000EGM / BGM fighters returning to France will obviously be upgraded and offered to another customer or used as spare parts. It was the necessary condition that Dassault had set in Greece in order to have a "reduction" in the purchase price of the Rafale F3R and to give immediately used fighters from the French Air Force to Greece, like the first six that arrived yesterday. Of course the 19 precious Mirage 2000EGM / BGM fighters were not to be part of the contract in exchange for France. They had to remain in service in the Hellenic Air Force, go through a limited program of upgrading their capabilities and continue to serve until at least 2030. Who will make interceptions in the Aegean? The Rafale F3R twin engines that cost three times as much per hour of use as the Mirage 2000? When the 1974 F-4Es continue to fly, upgraded, of course to the P.I.2000 level, is it possible to withdraw the 1988 Mirage 2000?

Had Greek air force had this capability before Rafales?
If you mean EW capabilty, yes it had and has, at Mirage 2000-5 and F-16 Block 50/52.

In aditional upgrade they try to counter our navy with air lauched exocet missiles, we will give them answer with superior SOM air launched anti ship missiles. This kind purchase won't change the upperhand of Turkey :D .

Correct, the article that I posted is from 2020 and is an official response of the Minister of Defense, who was talking about the second half of 2021. Rafale's photo is from yesterday, and shows equipped with a exocet.
As mentioned from many officials, the Rafale's are fully armed, which means not only the exosets but also the meteors.
As for the Mirage 2000 EGM/BGM given in France, they are well given, because on the one hand due to the reduction of duplication, on the other hand the Rafale were acquired to replace them.

Then why is Turkey desperately asking for F16V from the US?
Obviously the Turkish officials and pilots have a different opinion from your point of view. They know very well the potential of Rafale.

Don't really see how it's that superior, Scalp EG has a range reportedly between 250-400km

By stating that SOM is Superior, you have to give us some facts, right?

-Exocet AM39 entered service in 1979, 43 years in service, with constant improvements.
-It is combat proven in many wars.
-More than 30 countries using it.
-And it's been modified to get carried by 14 different fighter jets.

And you just spitting "SOM is superior", when it just entered service 3,4 years ago and passed some tests by hitting 3,4 targets.

The only thing that i see being better at is the range that it has.

And how many Scalp does Greece have?
Their number has never been published or announced.
It should be somewhere around 90. I am not sure the latest deal with Rafale.

It's based on technical specification and characteristics. SOM is one of the missiles that was selected to integrate F-35 alongside JSM.
Rafale is also not used in real war for A2A engagement, yet you already declared air superiority and won wars over Turkey with some number of Rafale.

The superiority is declared for the Rafales over the F16s.
And no, you can't win a war with only that amount of rafales.

This is from "The Military Balance 2021" magazine, perhaps the most reliable magazine in existence for the defense. It never mentions numbers, because they are simply not reliable.
You believe that there are 90, the article you brought us talks about 35, as officially and for obvious reasons, no one knows the real number.

If we have 100 to 150 scalps, they are more than enough for our current numbers of mirage / (all 24 rafales to come). That goes for you too, even if you produce 500 SOMs you need planes to carry them. If you don't have enough planes then they are useless.

Yes because the Rafale has actual published specifications, Data, Red Flag results, beat other aircraft in various criteria on several different purchase competitions by Nations and has a history of 50 years of linage and R&D with historically proven results.
