Yes I am aware, Sabah and Sarawak are their main concern or favorite topics. Their entire military purchase "excuse" ahh... reason, is directed towards securing East-Malaysia. (and it is far easier to make $ for the promoters).

The FPDA cover Sabah Sarawak or only malaya?
AFAIK - NO
It includes "officially" only Peninsular Malaysia
Last year during the 5oth anniversary, discussions were held in regards to inviting Brunei to join and to include Borneo - (project 10 year road-map) but to my knowledge nothing conclusive has been decided in that matter.

Anyway the FPDA treaty is a very "waterish" document, e.g. In the event of an attack onto Singapore or Malaysia the signatories agree to "consult" immediately. There is no provision stating that the signatories will automatically declare war towards such an aggressor. Also the protection of EEZ's are not included - but assistance can be requested.

Is there actually really a world wide shortage in regards to wheat? any people actually starving due to this so far?
Or is it more a matter of paying higher prices - due to other producers taking advantage?

Just like oil and gas - there is absolutely no shortage in Germany - yet prices have been driven up around 50% so far and are predicted to rise another 40%.
Even though alternative sources only differ in price to around 15-20%.

In China there isn't any oil or gas shortage either but prices have risen around 15-20%.-which would actually match other sources prices. Even tough China has not drawn additional oil/gas from alternative sources.

But oil/gas underlies the US $ controlled spot-market ;)

I am open for comments - thanks, especially towards wheat - since I honestly got no idea/information towards this issue.
