Sad that some people are slowly accepting the lie that Syrians and Afghans will integrate and everything will be fine!..

Once a minority makes up a substantial part of your population, let's say over 5%, they begin to demand things that you can never give them. They are nothing but a liability and a threat to the cohesion of the nation.

Africans got shipped to the USA as slaves. However for decades the whites have been trying to make peace with them. Despite all of the woke culture trying to please them, they lash out and burn down major cities due to the act of a cop against a criminal. This almost sparked a new civil war.

Or look at how the Ottomans invited Kurds into the southeast. Now they have become the biggest headache, a large chunk of them support PKK and other countries always try to use the Kurdish card against Türkiye.

If you seriously believe that Syrians, Afghans and others should stay in the country then you're naive. They will inevitably become the next major headache. You can be rest assured that every nation that hates Türkiye is excited for the day when non-Turks outnumber Turks.
What a toxic mindset!
Instead addressing the refugee problem in a realistic way, you are making it a racial matter.

( of course, i am not advocating for Turkey to take all the international burden but when it comes to just the topic of integration itself ) if well planned proper steps taken in a long term consideration, successful integration is possible.

And How do you think Turkic people themselves integrates in other countrie?
For example, in BD, our ancestors who came from somewhere current day azerbaijan did just fine. They became Part of the 'bengali' identity.
Only time minorities get stuck with their identity confusion when they are segregated socially and politically.

You laugh react and reply with this nonsense. How am I meant to take you seriously?

The reality is that race matters and multiculturalism has led to the destruction of many empires. Romans and Ottomans being prime examples.

Multiculturalism only works when you have small amounts of minorities. In fact having small amounts of different races enriches a nation's cities with different cuisines and culture.

However, we're talking about 13 million Syrians, Afghans, etc. There is absolutely no benefit of hosting this amount of people.

Stop spreading this woke bullcrap. Türkiye isn't your dumping ground.

I never said, Turkiye is my dumping ground!

and i never advocated for so called multiculturalism!
the very idea of proper integration means refugees or migrants accepting local identity, not to become a failed society like UK.

and saying, multiculturalism led to the destruction of empire is just a circular reasoning and wont get you anywhere.
the very idea of having an empire means conquering others people land,
it is like saying, the only reason empire broke down because it was build in the first place.

if you want to keep it so PURE, then you shouldnt try to build an empire in the first place!

anyway, i dont think this conversation would be fruitful. because for you, RACE MATTER!
which tells it all.
have a good day.

He’s right, no country in this planet is hosting that much refugees and economic migrants than Turkiye right now. This will greatly alter Turkiye social and economic structure in the future. Also daily crimes has skyrocketed since a decade because of that. And this reminds me of Europe, when jails are full of foreign people.

thats because of Turkey's geopolitical failure in the region for the last decade.
but that doesn't automatically gives someone any justification to be 'PRO RACE'!

Nobody is pro race, this is just a true observation of what is happening right now. And yes, the government is entirely responsible of this mess. Hope Erdogan and his cronies will pay heavily for what they did.

According to constitution he can not be a candidate for 2023 indeed.

As if the constitution has never been changed before for personal political gains.

An article about the recent sanctions on Erdogan school buddy and how he helps Iran to funnel billions to Iranian proxies.
Proxies that have targeted Turkish forces in Iraq and Syria dozens of times.

Not really
It depends on how you interpret the constitution tbh

As far as I know, the current constitution prohibits any individual from being the "president" of the republic for more than 2 two times max; however, Erdogan prior to the change from the parliamentary to the presidential system was considered as the "Prime minister" of the republic in the constitution's own terms and definition. Therefore, he has the right to be elected once more as the "president" of the republic

This is a wrong interpretation. He was elected twice and president two times

Lol ,he tries to teach us our constitution!!

You've been told a dozen times. I dont know if I'm talking to a wall at this point.
You can engage his argument if you wish to do so. But quit your BS "you're not from here, you cant tell us this or that" stance. If its wrong tell him why, if you dont know why or cant contribute something meaningful just dont say anything.

Understood?

I've been to a few areas filled with syrians in Turkey and it didnt look like they were assimilating at all, they don't even want to learn the language. Go to fatih district as an example. I remember walking around that place walking in and speaking Turkish to the shop owners and bar one out of maybe 20 places they were all disgusted to hear Turkish being spoken and were quick to tell me in English "no Turkish". Despite fleeing Turkey and being safe in Turkey they are more interested in learning English, then Turkish in Turkey.

One thing you learn quickly when you meet people from the mena regions, Turkish culture is much closer to southern European culture then it is MENA. Most of MENA culture is quite alien to Turkish culture if i'm being honest.

Also in Istanbul the Turkish people are very friendly and warm, they say hello, their polite, considerete etc. The syrians barge you out of the way, next to none of them smile at you or greet you, they make no efforts to help you.

The impression i also got despite non of the native Turks wanting to say bad things about it, they all realise how bad this is for the harmony of the nation.

I used to go the starbucks in the fatih distict shopping mall for a few mornings in a row and i would just watch the people and how they behave. One thing you notice was how the syrians would take up seats and order nothing, even putting their feet on chairs. They could see people with drinks looking for a place to sit and they couldnt care less to make room for them to sit down. Whenever they ordered i didnt hear one order in Turkish, they were either showing the order on their phone or speaking in broken english. Next to none of them were polite to the staff, none of them made an effort to clean their table up either. Sometimes they would sit various tables across from each other and would scream to each other in arabic holding a conversation annoying other people.

If your being honest, its an absolute disaster and a few decades from now its going to be another separatist problem that the west will instigate.
