I just can't believe that Turkish commanders are so stupid that they order something like this - since it usually doesn't just happen - instead, planes are escorted out and "intercepted" as long as you are not in a war with the other party - either it was just reckless, or it should serve some idea... to improve relations with Russia you don't have to shoot down a plane... for me it was either stupid or had an agenda

If you remember back in 2012 Syria downed our jet. After that our RoE regarding Syrian border have been changed. Any tresspassing vehicle is ordered to be shot down. Prior to downing of TuaF already had downed 2 Syrian Jets and 2 Syrian Helicopters. Last incident was Russian Jet. Everything else that they say are stories.
