TAF seem to be quite invested in the Training which must be tough considering they are trying to create a professional army with uncoordinated Militias.

The Difference in equipment is staggering though.

Comparing it with the Pictures of Soldiers that liberated the Wattiyah Airbase in western Libya.

While the investment is real the comparison between the two units is not on place. They are on completely different level. Even before the Turkish investment was largely felt on the front lines the Libyan SOF units were quite good equipped compared to the rest of the Libyan forces.

If the NV goggles, holo sights, ballistic protection and weapons are not just for the show and get on the level of standard equipment it will be a good improvement from the previous state of the SOF units and then it would be good to see a comparison of now and before between comparable units.

But is absolutely anti- Turkish and pro- sweet Arab petrodollars (UAE, Saudi). Be sure that their lobbies (plus Greek and Israeli ones) are pushing hard for the Pentagon to support Haftar who is a CIA asset anyway.

The EU mission to curb the smuggling of arms to Libya causes a scandal. When a Bundeswehr frigate tries to control a Turkish ship, Ankara protests sharply. The soldiers have to disembark again.

According to SPIEGEL information, the government in Ankara prevented the Bundeswehr from checking a suspicious Turkish cargo ship at the last minute. The Turkish freighter "Rosaline A" was stopped by the German frigate "Hamburg" about 200 kilometers north of the east Libyan city of Benghazi on Sunday because the EU-led mission "Irini" had indications that weapons were illegal for the Libyan on board Civil War being smuggled.

What at first sounds like a routine mission resulted in a scandal. Turkey protested only hours after the German soldiers who were commissioned by the EU to curb the illegal arms smuggling to Libya boarded the ship in the late afternoon. Specifically, Ankara informed the EU mission that the control would not be approved.

Because of the refusal from Ankara, the German soldiers had to stop checking the cargo immediately and disembarked at sunrise on Monday. The "Rosaline A" was able to continue its voyage towards Libya. According to the plan, the container freighter should now call at Misrata.
The incident shows once again how difficult it is to curb the smuggling of arms into Libya. Turkey makes no secret of the direct support of the internationally recognized government in Tripoli and sends weapons and mercenaries with ships and airplanes. Operation "Irini", however, is quite powerless without Ankara's cooperation.

The Bundeswehr had already stopped a cargo ship on its way to Libya in the summer. The suspicion of weapons smuggling was quickly confirmed at the time, as the freighter had a special type of kerosene on board that is only used for fighter jets.

It's important to remember that whenever the western oriented nations talk about mercenaries they always aim at those fighting on GNA side. The may mention Wagner, but not a single word about Janjaweed.

It does sound very suspicious. I mean boarding the vessel before obtaining permission.

The Captain of the ship would have known prior, and asked the Germans to get permission from Turkey before allowing them onboard.

Scandal!! The scandal is the EU's thought of sending troops to any ship it wants and controlling it. If this bullshit continues, every German and French merchant ship that passes through the Istanbul strait should be hold on for hours and checked with soldiers..

AGerman frigate participating in EU-led Operation Irini unlawfully stopped and searched a commercial Turkish cargo vessel, carrying food and paint supplies to Libya, in the Eastern Mediterranean, security sources said in a statement Monday.

According to the statement, the Hamburg frigate led by a Greek commander, stopped the Libya-bound vessel ROSELINA-A in international waters, south of the Morea Peninsula late Sunday and carried out an unlawful search.

The search was made without informing the flag-carrier nation's authorities, as per international maritime law, security sources said, adding that all containers were searched by the frigate personnel, who boarded the vessel from a helicopter.

The soldiers left the cargo ship after finding out that it contained nothing but food and paint supplies, sources said, adding that it was heading to the Misrata Port in Libya.

Sources also noted that the frigate violated the U.N. Convention on the High Seas, which determines the countries' rights and responsibilities in terms of their use of the world's oceans.


Operation Irini, approved by EU foreign ministers on March 31, aims to operate in the air and sea and with satellites to ensure that all countries respect a ban on providing arms to the parties involved in the Libyan conflict.

Seven countries are participating in Operation Irini, named after the Greek word for peace, including Italy, Greece, France, Germany, Poland, Malta and Luxembourg, with frigates and maritime patrol aircraft.

Although the operation aims to enforce the U.N. arms embargo on Libya's warring sides, it mainly focuses on maritime activities in the Mediterranean, while Haftar's side – the enemy of the legitimate Libyan administration – continues to receive arms and ammunition mainly by air and land, according to Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj.

The U.N. recognizes the Libyan government headed by Sarraj as the country's legitimate authority.
Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been providing arms and military equipment to Haftar's forces.

Some 70 resupply flights have landed in eastern airports in support of Haftar's forces since July 8, Stephanie Williams, deputy head of the U.N. Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) for political affairs, told the U.N. Security Council (UNSC).

In June, the Greek navy tried to stop Turkish frigates and a Turkish cargo ship en route to Libya, later retreating after a warning from the Turkish ships.

Also notice, how the German article mentions kerosene was found in a ship going to Libya, but not mentioning who and where it was bound. Because it was bound for LNA, but by mentioning it last in the article they're trying to connect it with Turkey indirectly.
