I was looking Maritime vessel traffic and saw this map, which made me go wtf

That grey line can't possibly be the maritime border between Turkey and Greece. If all islands have same NM then Turkeys Canakkale should for Turkey claim much bigger area.

Does anyone know better or have an explanation ?

If you remember back in 2012 Syria downed our jet. After that our RoE regarding Syrian border have been changed. Any tresspassing vehicle is ordered to be shot down. Prior to downing of TuaF already had downed 2 Syrian Jets and 2 Syrian Helicopters. Last incident was Russian Jet. Everything else that they say are stories.
Not syria (Assad) but the shoot down was coordinated by the russian naval facility at tartus and assad only carried out orders

Ret. adm. says EU is joining the bandwagon of isolating Turkey to the coastel stretch of Mediterranean sea.

He's going through the entire situation and saying that Turkeys declared continental shelf is not being questioned as it is a proven natural extention, but there is a political will to force Turkey to rescind our right.

Ret. Adm. Kutluk is right we should make our move, be proaktive and not reaktive.

I would very fucking much like to know what the fuck AKP and RTE are doing. Except being on f.... vacation.

Ret. adm. Kutluk giving Turkish government a lesson in diplomacy. The public is also expecting these moves.

Here is what I am worried about. Everytime Turkey has elections where chaos might follow. Our foreign affairs become docile, as if they stop working.

AKP has pretty much fucked our entire system even more, so how are we going to prevent anyone especially Greece trying to pull new stunts while Turkey is in the throws of political crises internally ?

Our borders are protected by TSK, no doubt there. But politically our diplomats and foreign affairs needs to be empowered to do the right thing while politicians kill each other. IMO

Interesting developments. Let's just proceed with this, and hope Greece continues refusing to meet. I'd very much like to see what is going to happen after september 25 :)

Since our government isn't proactive anymore might as well wait and see what others are going to do to give us entertainment. This is the state we've been reduced to.

I like how our FM is smiling fits so well with the headline :)

They have been arming them up for decades but our politicians stayed silent about it.

Those islands are small mass produce lots of missiles and use drones to carpet bomb them.

That’s not the point. The point is going to UN with this. Sending a diplomatic note informing everyone about our rights being violated. Just Greece does it. Being too lazy to go the extra mile is no excuse.
