I do believe Turkiye has much more better reach in Africa than russia. Especially in parts which are majority Muslim.

People think Arabs hold sway due to Islam but people are forgetting that the Ottomans actually went much more further into Africa than the Arabs.

Ottomans went into Sudan, Eritrea, Mali, Niger, Somalia and Djibouti. Does not mean we conquered these places.

Also Omanis actually did rule the Tanzanian coast and Zanzibar. I guess i cant discount them either.

It always interests me to know how people in those regions saw the Ottomans.
Did they see them as colonizers like other European Empires, or were they mostly happy to be citizens of the Ottoman Empire?

For example, among Subcontinent Muslims, Ottoman Empire and later Ataturk has a great image.
That is why during the Turkish war of independence, they sent help as much as they could.
