there was a reason, why this ship repainted. white mean neutral, doing humanitarian objective. i think it will not escorted with warship during the mission
Coast Guard ships are also white, with orange stripes.
White is "observable/visible" at a longer distance and tells anyone who might target it that it is not a military ship or anyone might be looking for it for the seeking aid/help, the cross on the ship emphasizes its purpose as a hospital ship. The actual reason to paint white is usually the latter case since this ship will be accepting boats/helicopters that may not function to find the ship without visual aid.

Acc. to international law, the color of the ship or the mission is irrelevant but any act-regulation is related with the agency the ship is registered for, in this case it is Navy.

KSAL hopes that the Indonesian Navy can have the ITS Morosini OPV

The Indonesian Navy hopes that the plan to purchase the Multipurpose Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) ITS Morosini can be realized to build strength and modernize defense equipment.

"Still, the plan is to hopefully buy an OPV," said Ali after the 78th Republic of Indonesia Fleet Day ceremony at Pondok Dayung, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/12).

The Thaon class OPV in Revel or Pattugliatore Polivalente d'Altura (PPA) made by Fincantieri, Italy is included in the additional budget from foreign loans (PLN) of 25 billion US dollars.

"The OPV we bought could one day turn into a frigate and that's what we hope for," said Ali.

Although it will take a longer time why not build a new one with our specific requirements? We can go with CODAD propulsion.

"China has not yet given up on exporting its warships to Indonesia, on this occasion not only warships were being offered, ASBMs were also being presented."

If they bagged the deal, bye bye F35

I'd be willing to sacrifice F-15EX, heck even F-35, if we're given the ToT package as well

Additional note: I was talking about their ballistic missile offer, not the ship offer.

Interested to know more about the "bridging" with SMI part.

I mean if 75T is all we need to pay the F-15EX, submarines, and the frigates, there's an easy solution. Take it from the IKN budget. Defense is much more critical than IKN. We can stretch the IKN plan, but we can't our defense.

Ain't no way we can get the ToT, at most just paint work or slapping new sticker.
Even the C-705 is you know lah.

So we were offered warship + YJ-21?
Is there sauce for it? Not twitter post tho.

So they have <1 month left to finish the ship?

Lel, indonesian version of Maharaja lela?

Benefit of using SOE or Naval Shipyards for 'experimenting', when delay occurs no penalties are applied, if product is deficit no penalties involved. No more comments.

I just wish for the best.

If this project are somehow troubled then at least, molor is still better than mangkrak.

Seems like they already made their choice.

If they're serious about that blue water navy thing, I hope they choose NG.
