I have a question which may be silly. Everyone is claiming that long range ballistic missiles with conventional warheads are useless. But if you can hit nuclear reactors of your enemies with those missiles? Are they still useless? I mean nuclear countries have also nuclear reactors. Does hitting a reactor with your missiles' conventional warheads produce similar effect of an atomic bomb? If yes, then you can respond their nuclear threat

It's not useless to have ICBMs with conventional warheads. There's two factors coming into the equation:

• If you have them, you are literally one step behind nuclear capability. It doesn't make sense to not take that extra step.
• Your perceived enemies are probably nuclear capable countries, too. Because no mid-sized country who only operates in its region wants to nuke another mid-sized country on another continent. You want to deter US, Russia or China in most cases. Vast majority of the remaining countries can be deterred by conventional means or irrelevant to you.

You can strike strategic targets but a country with such a reactor will likely have sufficient defenses and nukes, and nuclear reactors won't explode like a bomb, more like chernobyl. And attack on nuclear facility will be considered nuclear war so they will be justified to strike you back.

According to the Chernobyl TV series, it's like being hit by an atomic bomb. Of course, that's an exaggeration...

It's not the same thing. Besides, nuclear power plants are built far away from settlements.

Beka means "survivability".
That missile looks like Cenk missile.
That is probably a media orientated introductory newspiece picture of Cenk missile.
Cenk missile is supposedly 1000+ km range MRBM. A first officially stated medium range ballistic missile produced by Turkey.

It might even be a typo, I wouldn't put it past any of our companies, almost all of them have done it one time or the other. It is weird they mention SOM and all of its blocks but not SOM-J. And if it is new, well, that is even more exciting.

M should be for Mine. I think after succesfull trials of Malaman, they are incorporating this into SOM and UCA.

Although, speculating this based on the information shared years ago that a mine-carrying SOM was envisaged. Could as well be a word play like SOM-Milli, to indicate indigeneous engine, or SOM-MMU to indicate new SOM-J fitting internal bays of MMU.

Yes, the J stood for JSF, now it should be SOM MMU, basically.

What happened to SOM-C? Wasn't that supposed to have Anti-Ship capabilities?

SOM-M maybe a further development of SOM-J? (LongerRange, more stealthy design?)

SAGE has turned into a blackhole of information recently for any on-going project, last it was told both SOM-C and J ongoes data-link enabled surface engagement trials.

Might be SOM - Miniature as well, but hope it is not referring to Miniature.
