China's BYD building a new EV-plant in Mersin province, estimate investment: 1 billion USD.

5000 people can work here.
The Chinese didn't like the EU slapping additional tax on China produced vehicles, so they may try to circumvent that through Türkiye.

Also they'll be flooding the Turkish market with cheaper electric vehicles and curb domestic R&D.

They should have done the same thing. Restrict the sales of foreign electric cars to promote your own.

China will just answer back by reducing or stopping import of low tech stuff. Türkiye is pretty much still reliant on exporting tier 1 stuff to China as I recall.

Best answer to China would have been extreme high level of worker rights. The same rights AKP raped to oblivion.

Even danish newspapers have picked up on Chinas investment plan and just like me already deduced that it's an attempt to circumvent the toll barrier.

We need to make sure that only Turkish BYD's should roam the Turkish streets.
There are evidence that these car manufacturers use Uyghur slave labor to make their cars.
We need to make sure that no brother or sister of ours suffered for our joy.

I don't understand why Turkey is hostile to Israel to the point that it is willing to harm its trade with a country which Turkey has a large trade surplus with but is Okay with China, which not only genocides Turkic people but Turkey has a massive trade deficit with.

Turkey exports around US $2.93 billion to China while imports around US $41.35 Billion, and over 13 years, China has only invested around US $15 billion in Turkey.

Israel is hostile to Turkiye. We are just defending ourselves.
How by fucking Turkey's economy up?

Turkey had a US $4 billion trade surplus with Israel. All Turkey did was harm itself.

Erdoğan kept getting involved in the Palestinian-Israel conflict despite Palestinians always siding with the enemies of Turkey. In fact, the Palestinians were the ones who trained Armenians and PKK terrorists to kill Turks.

Before the Turkish government began championing the cause of Turk-hating Palestinians, Turkey's relations were somewhat neutral with Israel.

What Erdogan is really good at is to cover purely geopolitical moves under an obfuscation cover of ideology and narrative.
He claims that he's against Israel under the guise of "muh ummah" and stuff, but the motive of his involvement here is purely to defend Turkiye. Its sort of an open secret now that once Israel is sure that it's through with Gaza, they'll go north, taking over Lebanon and Syria, and then they'll try their chances with us.
Even Cyprus is in their sights, and the Greeks over there are quite happy and willing to be cucked by them any chance they get.

As for the Armenians and the PKK, they clearly did a shite job.

If Turkey won't be too pro-Hamas maybe Israel would not be that hostile? Turkey harbor the head of terrorist having meetings with them which Israel considered as terrorists. We would be rightfully furious if they do the same with pkk.

It would be harder if we didn't help Syria getting screwed.

This is largely due to the foreign policy of Turkey itself (very significant changes have occurred there over the past 10-12 years). As for Israel, this is Ankara’s reaction to the war in Gazza. In addition, the government must also take into account the mood in society.
The war will end, and over time everything related to trade will return to its previous state.
As for China, Turkey has no ability to influence it.

These are both after Turkey take an hostile attitude against Israel starting from Mavi Marmara and Davos. Israel was more pro-Turkey. Akp just screwed the relations with them for nothing. It was making more sense geopolitically to cooperate with Israel, they are holding the strings of US politics.
