China has been the most hated country in Africa way before the pandamic. And thanks to COVID the trend follows all around the world soon.
You are right. I was talking about the leverage the CCP has over African Govts.

Here - this is how the Chinese treat the Africans -

And this is in Africa!

African govts will fall in line to default and take over their assets, ccp can’t do much as there isn’t much of a judicial system in most of these countries. If G20 gives them assurances from under the desk they will be more than willing to do so. After all, US has experience in toppling Baltic states to default during the Soviet breakup.

China’s surprisingly durable reputation in Africa

In the five year interim since the respected public opinion research agency Afrobarometer conducted surveys on African citizens’ perceptions of China’s engagement on the continent, positive views of the Chinese were either stable or edging higher in most countries.

Overall, across the 18 countries that Afrobarometer surveyed, 59% of the people think that China’s economic and political influence in Africa is mostly positive.

That is a remarkable figure, especially in this day and age when China is such a polarizing actor in many other parts of the world.

And just as many journalists, intellectuals, and coastal elites completely misread the US electorate in 2016, missing the boiling populist resentment that propelled Trump to the White House, the Afrobarometer data suggests that a lot of analysts who condemn China’s presence in Africa may also be misreading public sentiment.

Despite seemingly endless media coverage and social media discussion about Chinese “debt traps,” imported labour, substandard Chinese products, neo-colonialism, counterfeit goods and so on, the data suggests that China’s positive public perception in many African countries remains surprisingly durable.

There’s an important lesson here for the United States government and other China hawks about efficacy of the debt trap critique that they’ve employed for the better part of a decade: research clearly demonstrates that it simply isn’t working and they’d be well advised to find a new messaging strategy.

For others, including myself, the challenge here is to push beyond the boundaries of our personal feedback loops and constantly question the embedded narratives that can prevent an accurate understanding of how people across the continent feel about the Chinese presence in their countries.

Everyone can have their own persoanal views, but we go by the results of overall polls to find average views among the general public.
We go by what we think is the more accurate representation. Difference of opinion and having contrary views is quite acceptable in democratic, civilized nations.

You better get off your high horses and stop talking down with this condescending manner, China definitely has flaws and problems, your India is not perfect either. You are not really that civilised and your democracy is flawed in so many ways.

"Better get off"?? I realize that the Chinese under the CCP aren't used to civilized debate and difference of opinion. But you must realize that in the civilized, democratic world, you can't really push your PoV and expect the others to abide by it.

You are free to post your narrative. Don't expect others to buy into it.

Your daily slandering and smear China is not a sign of "civilised debate" , it's a sign of obsession. Why you don't pay more attention to issues on India, the country now is having more troubles than anyone else.

If you can't handle facts, that's not my problem. You have a counter argument, present it. Now I request you to stop trolling and derailing every thread.

You are entitled to your opinion and your frustrations which seem to result in your constant trolling. Such behavior might be acceptable in communist societies. It is frowned upon in the civilized, democratic world. Now get back on the topic.

I don't see the point for sanctioning some individual Chinese officials, do they care? it generates more heat than light. it's more of a symbolic gesture. No countries are able to sanction China, the west has to change their superior atitude when dealing with China.

You aren't the point, so it doesnt matter if you see it or not.

Given how the CCP reacts to things already and of far smaller significance, it is the point for them to see...rather than the regular laypeople like you.

Going forward, CCP hypocrites very likely dont get to continue business as normal.

They dont get to do what they do and then send their kids to western universities and buy luxury properties with their ill gotten gains (literally through state sanctioned murder and crime) in the West.

One look at how many Chinese still migrate to West tells its own story....past the Chinese GDP inflation.

China just got developed in less than 10 years, it can't be more common for people emigrate from poor countries to rich countries, India is the same case, it has nothing to do with political parties or leadership.
in recent years, immigration and studying overseas is becoming less cause standard of living has been improved greatly and many Chinese universities have moved on par with top global schools.

As for China can not do business as usual, either you nor me can say it for sure, let facts speak, we see economic and trade stats coming in every day.
