But still using G3 by our soldiers.
But still using G3 by our soldiers.
G3s got replaced in all of the operational units of TSK as far as I know. They got MPT-76 and if we talk about Commando personnel either MPT-55 or SAR-56 (newest deliveries). I think only a small part of the Gendarmerie's operational units are still using HK-33s, but they are replacing them with KCR-556.But still using G3 by our soldiers.
I am very delighted that Turkish companies are keeping up with the trends. Some years ago I couldn't even imagine that Turkish firearms manufacturers will come up with anything more than a CZ-75 clone and an MPT-55.Our handgun industry invaded US civil market.

Because the rifle on the picture (SPEAR) is chambered in 6.8×51mm and not in 5.56x45mm like the old MCX, MCX Virtus or MCX LT. All MCX and also the SPEAR (XM7) have short-stroke gas pistons, they aren't long-stroke.Look at Sig MCX SPEAR . Spear is differs from ordinary MCX with long stroke.
With long stroke piston your assault rifle could perform like PKM.

SARSILMAZ always took good photo and video than other Turkish small arm brands.Looking good
Finally. Long overdue. JOP/POH have been screaming for it.Türkiye's first national folding stock infantry rifle KNG-C5, which can be used in various operations, especially in urban area operations, which is one of the main areas of asymmetric warfare.
This is from 2022Shame on Turkish gun manufacturers because they haven't been able to Submachine gun which SAT would use!
Shame on Sarsılmaz due-to their 9mm AR platform couldn't earn trust of Turkish SAT.
Turkish SAT conducting naval training with CZ Scorpion SMG ! on TCG in Libya!
They replaced MKEK MP5 clones with CZ Scorpion. İnteresting if our army prefers a gun, it is really better than others.

İt is time for creating a reliable SMG.
I don't want sig mpx clones which have gas-piston system.
We need clones of BT APC9K with hydraulic buffer.
Looks solid, cold hammer forged barrel, MLOK, interesting muzzle device and barrel profile, however...The Special Forces Command is currently testing Mertsav MAR556 in 14.5 and 7 inch configurations.
So far the opinions are very positive!

They would probably use these as PDWs in scenarios requiring lower profile. So far they are impressed with its stability in automatic firing mode and describe an interesting burning effect on the target.Looks solid, cold hammer forged barrel, MLOK, interesting muzzle device and barrel profile, however...
Everything below 11.5" is nowdays not ideal for modern military grade 5.56x45 rounds especially without suppressor mounted on, 7.5" is literally a mini flamethrower (muzzle flash) and extremly loud. We can see that Jandarma (JOH) is using them in operations, without suppressors, in a firefight at night this is like showing the enemy where you/unit are the moment you pull that trigger. Does the Military think about such important details? I don't think so when i see that they are interested or consider a 7" rifle chambered in 5.56x45...
This chart here shows how much velocity and energy the 5.56x45 is losing below 11".
If we compare the 7" 5.56x45 with a 7" 300.Blk we see the difference, even though the 300.Blk has less velocity it's heavier bullet has nearly 50% higher stopping power, another huge benefit of the 300.Blk is you can shoot it reliably subsonic which means lower noise and flash signature.

*NOTE: fps -> feet per second.
Yeah, it's not like special forces are going to use short barrels on open space. I assume they choose to go with 5.56 instead of 9x19 for logistical reasons as well? It would probably make their lives easier if everyone was on the same calibre after all. They would probably use these as PDWs in scenarios requiring lower profile. So far they are impressed with its stability in automatic firing mode and describe an interesting burning effect on the target.
OKK is searching for ways of diversification of its inventory.
Why testing another carbine since There is MPT55? Same platform. The Special Forces Command is currently testing Mertsav MAR556 in 14.5 and 7 inch configurations.
So far the opinions are very positive!
