Supercavitating torpedos are the loudest mfers under the sea. Any competent vessel would instantly know where it is and where it's coming from and deal with it accordingly.
IMHO, a typical ASW vessel is a giant island of electronic and acoustic noise-maker on the surface. Radar emission can be detected at great distances, sensitive sonar systems can estimate the course. But the worst case scenario for a submarine is to be detected within the engagement limits of this vessel. You can detect it, but the destroyer/frigate dominates the area. Getting into torpedo range is a very risky warfare under any circumstances. If the submarine fires a torpedo, conventional type or not, it will become predictable at that moment, am I wrong?

In line with the needs of the Naval Forces Command, mass production of the AKYA Heavy Class Warfare Torpedo, developed by ROKETSAN with domestic and national resources, has started and its delivery to our submarines has begun.

The AKYA torpedo successfully demonstrated its hit and destruction ability during the war launch conducted by the TCG PREVEZE Submarine in the Eastern Mediterranean on December 27, 2023.

Really great news, hopefully we'll soon have enough to arm all our submarines with them. On the other hand, however:

*Sad Orka noises*

@AlterUnd knows some about Orka and that makes me hopeful.

How if the torpedo carried by a capsule or something capable of silent cruise and then switching to "super-cavitating" mode with assistance in the terminal phase?

Laying mines in the territorial waters of another country, that you share an alliance with. That will totally work and not backfire /s

This was for a Scenario were a Crisis is erupting in the Aegean/Cyprus and France send a CSG in order to Support Greece. The Mines are A2/AD measure to prevent the CSG entering the eastern Mediterran.

I don't think it would work. Not because of the ethics, but because of the depth of the strait.

A sea bottom mine which can effectively block a strait this deep and this wide is surely a nuclear one.

Orka looks to be center stage next to AA family of missiles in Euronaval 2024. Hopefully some updates are in order.

Murat İkinci at AA talks

(36.20) Orka can track-follow targets and can engage the followed target when command.

It seems like Roketsan made a loitering torpedo. It can be a game changer if it has a low cost since it can be deployed from air too. Drop some Orka's when you have an intelligence about a possible submarine around x point and let the Orka's find it for you.

(37.00) We will see new techs on roketsan torpedoes in near future

(38.00) Roketsan completed all main firearms needed to protect Mavi Vatan

I couldn't see on the thread so I will drop this here too,
Akya is on mass production.
